suzuhara
I have recently purchased SSE and have downloaded a bunch of follower mods. In bodyslide some of the followers have several entries: body, body physics, feet hands etc. When I apply a preset to a specific follower do I apply it to both body and body physics, shirt and shirt physics? I am guessing since I have physics installed I just apply it to the physics entry. I have done some searching but couldn't find a definitive answer. Any help is greatly appreciated. Jeir
'Body' and 'Body Physics' change exactly the same meshes. If you try to build both, BodySlide should give a popup telling that they conflict, and letting you pick which to build. So, yes, if you want physics meshes (and have the requirements), then you only build the physics ones (or BatchBuild them all and manually select the physics ones in the aforementioned popup)
suzuhara
Thank you. That makes sense and helps.
anjenthedog
for starters I hope I'm not being too candid here. If I am, (even though I'm dancing a bit around the matter) I apologize to the administrators up front. Secondly, I am strictly talking about the player in this discussion, because going beyond it to NPCs and followers/companions is derived from the basics (knowing how to deal with the player) and is often dependent on a given non-player type including bodyslide support (either coming with its own unique bodyslide model or using a named, known downloadable bodytype (the latter requires a bit more work, which I also won't be getting into) . Finally, if this is TMI, I apologize. I know some folks just like it short and quick, but many really want a fuller treatment (maybe even fuller and more expert than what I'm about to offer), even though they're unwilling to ask and grateful for even crumbs of information.---------------------------------------------- When fitting armor, IFF you have a bodyslide that is named "something something clothed" or similar, and if you don't want nipples "showing" , choose the "something something clothed" variant to fit the clothing to. If you do want it a bit slootier, choose the physics or special. Generally speaking, the "clothed" variants push the breast up a little, squish them in, and suppress the nipples...kinda like a chick wearing a padded push-up bra. Physics allows bounce. Special allows bounce too. Where CBBE special deviates from "physics" is that it has certain bits of "special anatomy" (ahem) that are otherwise simply painted on with either CBBE or CBBE physics, but have added "3D" functionality and visual elements when "special" is chosen. So... Special is for including a "functional" "special place". Generally speaking only for use with a nude player/npc/follower/companion for virtual procreative actions. **Finally, there's another option. BodySlide Studio also includes a never nude version (CBBE Never-Nude) for those who are modest, underaged, or otherwise morally opposed to the more "adult" aspects of skyrim. ---- So, for instance, you download "Bob's RillyHawt Blonde CBBE Bodyslide" (no this bodyslide doesn't actually exist, I'm just making it up for illustrative purposes) After installing the new bodyslide, you open CBBE Bodyslide and Outfit Studio. You find two new entries generated and added to CBBE BodySlide and Outfit Studio from the "Bob's RillyHawt Blonde CBBE Bodyslide" bodyslide installation: RillyHawt Blonde Clothed RillyHawt Blonde NudeOne might choose to apply #2 to the nude player body, by choosing CBBE special for the Outfit/Body, and RillyHawt Blonde Nude for the preset, then click preview to open a preview window showing how it looks, then click "Build" to apply it to your player. If you're in the **last category, one might instead choose CBBE Never Nude for the "Nude" outfit/Body, and the RillyHawt Blonde Nude OR RIllyHawt Blonde Clothed Preset depending on how modest you want to be. Don't forget to find and apply your new RillyHawt Blonde Nude body preset to the feet and hands as well so you don't end up with seams at the wrists and ankles... Then being a moderately modest or simply "fashion-conscious" or logical individual, (how much nipple can really show through a heavy garment anyway? I mean, a gossamer thin fabric like a bikini is one thing, but a thick woolen outfit like the "fine clothing" entries?), you start fitting armor and clothing for your players' new body. Using a single-piece fitting as an example, you find some body (torso) armor/clothing you like. (anything that covers the torso...boots etc are a different matter, although admittedly related...here we're concerned mainly with how things fit the body. the basics... ) Select the piece of armor/clothing for the outfit/body, then choose the RillyHawt Blonde Clothed preset. Click Preview to view (if the preview window isn't already open from your last action) Then if satisfied, click build to fit that armor to your chosen player body. This will ensure (mostly) that body parts won't stick out through the armor, while maintaining the overall constancy of this new player body's "nude" version you applied earlier. Or if you like the slootier approach (ie a no bra look) choose the RillyHawt Blonde Nude as the preset. If you keep an eye on the preview window, you'll see the difference. If you prefer that, click build. IFF you have modified the bodyslide itself (ie you've adjusted sliders) You *should save that new preset to a new name so it can be called back later. In addition, if you have both nude and clothed variants of the bodyslide (see my RillyHawt example), you'll want to be careful to wrtie down all your new settings so you can go back and create a clothed custom variant to go with your customized variant ex: RillyHawt Nude and Clothed variantsyou modify RillyHawt Nude using Bodyslide and Outfit Studio sliders.you then save that altered version as "RillyHawt Nude Customized".I'm not sure it's the right way, but when you save a new custom preset, you'll want check all the checkboxes it will ask you to select, so the new customized preset can be used with all the various Outfits. This can be used to quarantine custom stuff to particular armors but I'm not there yet. For your first attempt, jsut select them all. you will want to write down every single slider change you made to RillyHawt Nude to change it into "RillyHawt Nude Customized", (and I will predict if you don't do so, you'll regret it later.)The next part isn't simple... You'll need to create your customized clothed variant (that is the "correlated" companion to your "RillyHawt Nude Customized" bodyslide preset) by adjusting the RillyHawt Clothed preset using those changes. AFAIK, there is no recipe for the required changes to adjust the clothed variant to match the changes made to the nude model, but I ensure you, having the values to compare in the nude vs customized nude will help. I mean, alternatively, you can punt and just use the "stock" RillyHawt Blonde Clothed for armor fitting , but any substantial changes you made in creating the customized version may cause visual weirdness when switching between being nude and being clothed. (I discovered this early on when I adjusted the knee position on a nude model but failed to adjust the clothed variant. Undressing in Skyrim game play resulted in her knees moving up a couple of virtual inches, since I'd made her calves longer (and changed the knee shape too) and I didn't "bother" to make the same changes for a custom clothed variant. It get messier when you start adjusting hips and back and arms and breasts and butts... OH, unless someone can correct me on this, You;ll find that only the right side sliders affect what you see in the preview screen in Bodyslide Studio. Either I am ignorant, or it only allows that view (high weight or right side sliders). Not quite sure how people are able to properly set the low weight settings with accompanying visual feedback.... So none of this is science and I'm not an expert and yes, it's kinda rambling and far less in depth than one might wish for. Just sharing my own experience and giving you a quick breakdown. Hopefully you get the gist and this helps a little. Best of luck.
