Pickysaurus
Scottina123 has received a formal warning. This user has now received 1 formal warnings. The warning was given for the following reason: This is an upgrade of your informal warning issued 08 Mar 2017 regarding the use of assets without permission. At the time you were given the benefit of the doubt by our staff, however, in 2018 you sent a PM to the authors whose assets you used to apologise. This message detailed that you knew what you were doing was wrong at the time. A snip from the PM:"I’m sorry for stealing your mod assets. When I first started modding Mass Effect 3, it was never my intention to steal mod assets. In fact, when I first started I explicitly asked Ottemis if I could use her assets and she said yes. This is what I intended to do for the rest of my modding career. However, the reaction from reddit and users on Nexus got to me. I got comments, like how I had the best mods since a lot. I knew this was not true, but it got to my head anyway. I had never done anything that warranted that type of attention before, and I wanted more. My impatience overtook me and instead of waiting for mod authors to give me permission, I went ahead and took their assets hoping that I would not be caught. I was an attention prostitute. In the case of your assets, I reasoned that since you had no clear permissions on asset use, that I could use them freely. This was very very wrong. I should have waited for you to answer my requests and I should have never interpreted how permissions work that way. And when you confronted me about it, particularly about that Jack specular map, I should have been honest and not try to lie about the origin of the assets. I am not trying to excuse my actions with the statement above. I was selfish, impatient, and downright disrespectful. The amount of effort you put into your mods, like Casual Jack, is precious and I disrespected that by stealing. All the praise belongs to you and I should have never attempted to steal some of that for myself. There is probably nothing I can do to make this right, but please know that I will carry the guilt and regret, of what I did, with me for the rest of life." Based on this new information (only reported recently) we have decided to revise your moderation from the original case. Taking into consideration all the information including the extent of the original offence, time passed with no further recorded infractions since and the genuine nature of your apology - we have decided the fairest course of action would be to upgrade your informal to a formal.
