Jakob1005
Hello there, I recently started to experiment a bit with modding (while taking baby steps) and have done some things like adding walls to Falkreath, make the cemetery larger and so on. That worked quite well. Then I tried making some other things (Legion camp, more ships), and I saved them properly. Then I started the game to see if it worked, but in-game the changes are...just not there. I checked the skyrim se folder and the .esp files are there. I checked the Nexus Mod Manager and the .esp files appear in the "plugins" section. I started the game and looked at the mods (from the main menu) and while the mods I made appeared there, they were not checked. I tried to activate them, but nothing happened. Then I left the game, looked at the NMM again and the .esp files for the mods I made were not checked now, although they were before I started the game. Then I checked them again, started the game and....it was exactly like before. Why is that ? I made about 5 different (small) mods and three of them work well, but the other two don't, while all I did for the last one (for example) was adding a legion tent and a campfire, so nothing extensive or too complicated there. Can anyone help me with this ? Edited October 19, 2019 by Jakob1005
kryten397
As a test install SKSE64 and launch the game using that. The vanilla launcher will keep disabling some mods that it cant cope with eg SKYUI-because it doesnt have skyrim esm as a master. Those 2 esp that dont work what masters do they have.Thats the only thing i can think of. Edited October 18, 2019 by kryten397

The masters for the esps are Skyrim, Dawnguard, Dragonborn, Hearthfire and that is it.
kryten397
Ive heard of NMM disabling mods -the problem being the mod manager itself. One of the things to try was to run NMM as administrator but this didnt solve it for everyone. I gave up with NMM ages ago and switched to MO2 because of various problems. So you could try another modmanager such as MO2 or Vortex and see if the problem persists. Is it the same if you install manually-and add the esp to the plugins text file and activate it there. yourname/AppData/Local/Skyrim Special Edition/plugins.text Edited October 19, 2019 by kryten397
