Suitable Cave Home?

@AnkhAscendant.....Unfortunately I agree with you... ....Fallowstone/Eldergleam are somewhat bigger than I had originally envisioned as the perfect home space, but sadly through my cave excursions, I am finding there's really not much in between in size, they all seem to be quite large or very small...and I need a tall ceiling space with open to the sky light sources to have trees and make the plants make more sense in being able to grow there....and of course a reasonably decent sized water source given the fish inclusion....Stuck between a rock a hard place cave size wise.... :ohdear: .....IIf it's Fallowstone I would only be copying the main chamber and platforms down to it....not the back caves....would have to wall up those back entrances.

I understand where your coming from with not wanting anyone else to live there.... ....A friend of mine wants to make my Dovahkin a Follower in his game....that I am happy with and feel pretty honored to be asked....but he also made comment about making 'Kane' my Dovahkin possibly available to download as a Follower publicly (on Nexus)....that was a definite 'No' from me ....I don't want anyone else playing with my Kane.... :ohdear: .... :turned:

Fallowstone really has a lot of potential for a fixer upper. Like Ankh, I am quite taken with it. If either of you do anything with it, it would be great to see some screenshots someday.

I have noticed what you mean about appealing medium-sized caves. Carah had to devise her own in Everspring Grotto Not a defensible design, but the single high-ceiling chamber with the stream and bathing pool is a sweet setup.

Your initial choice with Druadach Redoubt is really practical in size and water source, but has no waterfall or bubbling stream. I personally am a sucker for waterfalls. Can't wait to see what you think of the other caves you visit! Have fun while you're out there looking :)

I have seen the 'Everspring Grotto' Mod....it is very pretty, I like it....I think a little too pretty (furniture, flags) for a male Werewolf Warrior though.... ....doesn't suit him.....the flowers, trees and butterflies will certainly make my Cave pretty and lush....but the lifestyle will be much gruntier in appearance.....more function orientated over decorative.

Yes, I have been thinking about Druadach Redoubt....if I could work out how to add waterfalls....yup, I want Waterfalls.... .....the Redoubt would be a very good size...but I want waterfalls.... ....

Eldergleam is a good one, since it's got a feel of being outside-but-inside (If that makes sense ).

Another cave/dungeon which I remember well is Blackreach, with the creepy blue mushrooms and vibrant Imagespace it gives the place a really cool effect.

Blackreach might be just a little too big for a home mod... :P

I agree with the pretty significant lack of middle-sized caves. Every time I think of one that I liked it's either huge like Fallowstone or tiny, basically one little room. For instance, I remember one where you walk inside, are beset upon by a few bears, then there's a water pool with some slaughterfish in it and if you waterbreathe and swim past them there's... something. Heh, it's been a while. It's nice and naturey, but A) I don't remember what it was, and B) I think it was a tiny one. :/

Yup, does make sense.... ...that is the feeling it gives....The whooping great Tree probably helps with that feel too.... ....though the tree would have to go if I use the Eldergleam base.....As for Blackreach....I am looking for a cave where I don't have to play with it's size and though Blackreach is pretty, I could imagine that kind of atmosphere being perfect for a Mage type character but not for a Nature orientated Werewolf.

My game has crashed (keeps CTD'ing) due to some recent download addition according to BOSS.....BOSS calls it a 'dirty edit'.....so until I sort that out my Cave hunting has come to a grinding halt.... :( Edited by StayFrosty05

Hi, I just wanted to mention one place I thoght of reading through the thread. The fineall area in Bleakfalls Barrow is of the big/small type I think hgh cealing, running water, and some of the best lighting in the game for caves I think. You'd have to green it up yourself but it sounded like thats what you wanted anyway. Well good luck.

Am back up and running.... ...I have now checked out Shadowgreen cavern, Ravenscar Hollow, Broken Oar Grotto and a return visit to Bleakfalls Barrow's main chamber.....Ravenscar was a good size....but very dark....Broken Oar Grotto is way too big and too much water.... :turned: ....Bleakfalls Barrow not enough water and little too small for the list of inclusions...thank you though Ironwolf....much appreciated .... ....The moment I entered Shadowgreen though...it's perfect!.... ...perfect for a Werewolf.... ....it just shouted 'YES!' to me....very defensible, lots of nooks and crannies and vantage points for a hunted, reclusive beast....good ambient lighting....perfect sized pond with a lovely little brook running down to it....What I will change first off though is find out how to add two water falls under the far ledge to cascade into the lower pond and remove the pond on top of the central podium type terrain....that would be the main living area I think....bedding, cooking, storage, weapons racks, mannequins...I am thinking about the possibility of setting an inactive Word Wall atop the podium as a backing piece for the racks and mannequins...I would love to hear peoples thoughts?....AND HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL FOR ALL YOUR HELP....VERY DEEPLY APPRECIATED....THANK YOU!....

EDIT: (Hours later)...Hmmm...this is terrible...I am thinking about Eldergleam again too.... :ohdear: ....I think for the simplicity of the layout.
