MrSly
Hmmm... Sigil Stones and RuneSkulls WOULD allow individuals to do their own enchanting... Maybe you're right, a simple Sigil Stone Shop might be the simple answer here... I like the idea. And I can still sell clothing and staves and such for enchanting purposes... Simple is good. Let me look at what will be involved with this idea. I MIGHT be able to do this myself, now... Thanks for the ideas!!
MrSly
I'm trying to have my store vendor sell just plain armor, weapons, and clothing. He keeps adding magical items somehow. I specify the items individually. How can I force him to only sell the NORMAL version of these items?
Boss171
i now this probably isnt what you want, but in frostcrag spire there is an enchantment altar for which no skill at all is required, just cash and soul gems, which you can buy. its sort of like the rich buisness amn buying his child something that usually needs years of skill to get, but he just waves the cash and boom. no magic required, sill i dont reckon its what you want
MrSly
You're right, it's not what I want, but it IS interesting. I'll have to get Frostcrag and check it out. Thanks for the info!
TotallyNotToastyFresh
A very good idea. To the above comment about Frostcrag, the issue is that it is hard to get grand soul gems, and they are very rare. If you want a way to get a grand soul gem that practically never runs out, do the Azura Daedric quest, then go and get Umbra, and then you can use Umbra to capture souls, and then keep recharging Umbra with Azura's star. Then you can enchant weapons with a soul gem that never runs out. :)
MrSly
Interesting. Again, I'll have to check that out, too! I've tried several options on getting my NPC to just sell normal items, but nothing seems to be working. Nearly everything seems to be a Leveled item. I've found that most clothing is fine, but the problem is with armor and weapons. All I want is to sell a normal bow... He seems to like changing it to a Bow of Embers! This will not do, as I want to enchant it using the Sigil Stones. Ideas?
MrSly
I have no idea how, but it works now. I swear I didn't change a thing, but now he sells only normal items. Anybody know where to find a NORMAL staff? Unenchanted?
myrmaad
I have no idea how, but it works now. I swear I didn't change a thing, but now he sells only normal items. Anybody know where to find a NORMAL staff? Unenchanted? RinzeiCrystalStaff_Unenchanted Any staff resource mod And I'm using one other one in my game I don't remember what mod it is, though. Realize when you try to enchant a staff with Vanilla Magic, you won't get a satisfactory result. Why because the only unenchanted staff in the game is the one you're given as a reward for the Mage quest. And you're not allowed to enchant it, someone does it for you. So there's no enchantment for Staves in the enchanting screen, weapons are automatically strike, if I recall correctly. I think that's the trouble.. memory's failing a bit. Anyway, Supreme Magicka has staff enchanting, and I wouldn't doubt any of the other Magic Overhauls probably address this problem as well. You may have already figured all this into your mod though? MrSly
WOW, I had no idea. Never occured to me either. Well, if I can figure it out using other mods as models, I'll do that. Otherwise, I guess Staves will just have to wait, or be ignored. Not a good solution for the Mages out there, though... Thanks for the heads up!!
