Deleted919650User
Looks good so far, but I'd recommend a more "Post-Apocalyptic Wasteland"-ish texture. :PCourse, it's entirely up to you, but the only add-ons I'll personally be downloading for Fallout 3 are those which belong in a nuclear wasteland! I want my guns all beat to hell as a testament to the fact that they've been around for 200 years! Nicks, dents, light rust, worn paint, etc, etc.If you find out how to get that into Fallout 3 without the CS being released yet, you'd have my download instantly if you could beat it up a bit! TehProfileth
I still do not understand how companies can spend years on a game and 1 guy can make a gun that looks nicer than theirs in a few weeks, it absolutely blows my mind, this supports my theory that Bethesda use computers with cut and paste to create their games. vash1985
first off, they hire artists, not gun experts. second, the said artists do everything from make the models to the texture work.finding people that are really good at that are few and far between. in the end they are not even remotely concerned about if they make a accurate looking firearm. You don't need to be a cat expert or even own a cat to make a good picture of one. ;)

Moraelin
Well, guessing that the 10mm gun is the closest to this, Bethesda seems to have copied the looks of the Fallout 1 and 2 one. So I wouldn't chalk it up to not knowing how guns work, but merely up to trying to stick to the existing lore.
vash1985
the original 10 mm was a revolver. and im not really saing they dont have a general idea of how weapons work. heck they did good with the hunters rifle and lincons repeater (sorta, the hand positing on the repeater fails bigtime), but they are not into firearms as much as i or the OP and tend to go with a good enugh approach. brurpo
hey guys thanks for the support, I got two friends that are programmers, and they are studing with me how we will put that on the game. Jaysus: thanks man, well its writen M9 beretta on its side, so I used it, if I could I would change the topic name, so lets let the correction to the mod name =]I modeled thinking about low-poly, most of the aditional polys were for normal maps, I generally just cut some edge loops out, deleted some polys that were not showing, and seppareted some details that required too many edge loops on the whole model. TehProfileth: thanks man, I work 8 years on modeling but started low-poly about 1 year ago, still, the guys at bethesda are just too good, they dont just make weapons, but the whole game objects, I am pretty sure they could do much more detailed weapons, but with the experience I have with this kind of work, boss and time are a huge problem, I imagine they dont have a week to do a weapon, probably one day or two, and there are just too many things to model. I almos cry at some animations or models that I deliver because people asked me to do it the day before it had to be ready and, 6 hours later, ppl coming at me saying "ok ok its good this way, put it on the intranet go go go!" vash: I know what you mean man! thanks. Its 5k tris now, do you think its still too much? zwik, and all wasteland lovers here you go, wasteland-ish texture progression, also changed the normal map, to wear off the details like letters. http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/4930/br1fj5.jpg http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/2685/br2ye7.jpg http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/6148/br3sd5.jpg http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/9360/br4fw3.jpg
