jyujinkai
what about steam workshop mods?
JanusForbeare
You may already have a solution, but you can just use Wrye Bash to load all mods used in any of your saved games. Just go to the "saves" tab, right-click on your game, and select "load masters". This will allow you to maintain a mod-free save for testing your projects, and keep your main game intact. RGMage2
If you have the disk space, I believe you can just make a copy of your whole Skyrim directory and then swap installations based on renaming directories--whichever is named "Skyrim" will be the active installation. (I haven't tested this myself, but I have seen multiple people say that this works for them.) I used to do that with Oblivion. I had several Oblivion folders and I just changed their names depending on which install I wanted – Oblivion, Oblivion2, Oblivion3, Oblivion4 and so on. Also had to have multiple save folders. It was a bit of a nuisance but it worked. What I do with Skyrim is I have a dual boot with a second hard drive and clean widows install, with only Skyrim and CK installed, updated to latest patches, and only subscribing to my own mod for testing, and that is what I use for modding. My other install is for playing and I don't update it on steam, which might be the opposite of what the OP wants if he is subscribing to mods on steam. It might not be for everyone, but it works for me.
jyujinkai
I can't speak for this as I've never used it, but it may do the job for you. Skyrim Installation SwapperDescription===========Create and swap up to ten unique installations of Skyrim via GUI or hotkey. Test mods safely, set up unique installations for different characters, eliminate disagreements among computer sharers about what mods should be installed! This thing works FANTASTIC. Even saves NMM settings and logs and the files in documents/my games.... nvr worry again... you can work on your mods with a clean version.. then just swap to your game files to play... copy them into a backup before you install otr upgrade anything... make a "base" set... that is nothing but your "must have mods" like texture enchanters... so anytime you wish to start a new game.. you fav mods are set up... Best ever this should be in gems!

ChampionOfHircine
Not for me... :( After getting all sorts of errors while switching profiles, I managed to get it to retrieve all my data except my NMM install info. I was afraid I would lose it all. After that, I can't trust it again.
jyujinkai
nvr had a problem.. I am currently running 3 profiles.. my main game.. a 2nd game running SkyrimRedone and my version I use for my mod project... I especially like the "clean function" were you can press a button and build a fresh clean install. I swap the profiles around twice a day.
