AvengerDr
Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to mod the initial number of turns before the bomb explodes? I think that 3 turns are too few.. you have to be really suicidal to get there on time. So I am skipping them altogether, atleast in the early game. But if they could be modded to say 5 turns at the beginning and 2 turns for every reset maybe they could become more manageable.
PepprmintButler
Really ? I always felt like these missions are way too easy. There are power nodes all over the place, you can up yourself to 6 or 7 turns quite easily.Different people, different experiences I guess. Anyway we need to give the talented people at work a few more days to (hopefully) come up with a way to repack changes in the scripts, ant we'll be able to do something about that. ATM, it's out of reach.
AvengerDr
I know but if you get it in the first month then you have a bunch of mostly novice soldiers and you may or may not have a heavy soldier.. If you advance and actively shoot there is no guarantee you will one-shot the enemies. The aliens have Thin men which even with full cover seem to be sharpshooters. Once they wound one or two of my soldiers (and in classic in the first month you only have 4) it's essentially game over - or a prolonged fight. If I run towards the power nodes, these only provide half cover, i.e.: guaranteed hit or kill for the aliens. How do you do it?
shiwan8
there are 2 fixes for this. 1: You lower your difficulty setting. 2: You man up and accept the fact that you have just about 2 turns to throw away in those missions and that means likely losses. Remember that you only need to get some soldier to fiddle with the bomb in time for it not to go off. Then you have all the time in the world. DeMocha
I never had an issue with those maps1- deactivating the bomb doesn't count as a move2- it counts as cover3- the only time i've had those missions, the enemies were thin men (dunno if that changes later in game) Think the worst thats happened to me was a bit of a bad decision and bad luck where i aggro'ed 2 groups of thin men and lost 2 guys. I always make sure that i am able to throw the whole team on overwatch when i throw the switch, which allows me to take out the vast majority of thin men counter-attacking without risk.
