Drakous79
Check, if you have file XComGame.upk.uncompressed_size in XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XComGame\CookedPCConsole and rename it, if yes.Run xshapeTry the game Edit: Glad you got it sorted omegadk1. Start the game with XCOM icon (that starts Steam and then game). Edited November 14, 2012 by Drakous79
Amiga4everUK
Of course I deleted every decompressed file in folder.I'm not sure what decompressed files you deleted; you aren't supposed to delete any, but perhaps you meant compressed? :) The original compressed file (XComGame.upk) should be renamed or moved out of \XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XComGame\CookedPCConsoleThe decompressed XComGame.upk file should then be placed in \XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XComGame\CookedPCConsole No other .upk files should be deleted/renamed/moved for that version of the mod to work. If XSHAPE doesn't give any error codes, then it might not be the cause of the problem. XSHAPE should say:xcomgame.upk SHA hash updated.1 SHA hash(es) updated. Yep I deleted too many files. Later I just renamed one compressed file and was fine.
dendrophobia
Sorry to necropost here, but I'm having problems with XSHAPE too. I ran XSHAPE and got ERROR(16), so I edited the bat according to the instructions on page 1, but upon running the bat again, it tells me "No changes needed to be made." But the game still crashes on start-up. I went through this thread from the beginning, but I couldn't find anything on my problem.

Change:java -jar XSHAPE.jar 26444500 To:java -jar XSHAPE.jar 0 This is needed since the latest game patch because XSHAPE was designed for the old EXE file. After I changed that, it said it updated the SHA hash. But the game still wouldn't start up after that, so I ran the xshape again and that's when it told me that no changes needed to be made. What game version do you have? Not sure why it would give you that error. You can try to restore your game to the original. Make sure you start the original game at least ones. Then try to mod it again. What game version do you have? Edited November 23, 2012 by BlackAlpha

That's probably what caused the error, then. Steam will only install the final files when you start the game in online mode (it will give you some dummy files, until you start the game).
