The reason the sniper in that picture cannot use Squad Sight is because the Sniper has no line of sight of the alien. Squad Sight allows a Sniper to shoot an enemy beyond his/her own visual distance, no more. There is the middle section of the car blocking her view in this pictures case. Link one shows my Assault unit in point blank range and flanking the muton. In the background you can see my Sniper, with Squadsight, on high ground, and flanking the muton as well to boot! http://postimg.org/image/q3g5bhd23/ Picture two (a composite for clear visibility of both sniper and the target) shows the same scene from my sniper's perspective. You're absolutely right, The car blocks nothing. The guy rambling about "middle sections" is high. Squadsight is seriously bugged.
