armageddon818
Ok, so I have been trying for a while to make a worldspace (islandish) for my city (Alsiae, other thread) So I want to make one, ok...I know HOW to do it. But there are some glitches which just are hindering my progress. One: Upon clicking the erosion button, 90% of the time it crashes the programTwo: Upon saving the land texture, 25% of the time it crashes it, another 25% it saves, but with "errors"Three: Upon saving the plugin file itself, 65% of the time it saves the worldspace with "errors" 15% of the time, it saves it normally, but when i look at the heightmap editor again, it is still with the errors WTH?!?!?!?! It is just so annoying that I can't really get started with anything without a landmass to put it on. Can anyone help?!
exanimis
I've run across the same problem, the solution that I found was to make small changes each time. Don't try to raise the whole island, just a small part, save it and try a little more. That isn't the solution to the problem though, I don't know what is but it helps. I will definitely try that. I think that is what I had done inadvertantly before and that is when it saved. Then I started to make some larger changes (like lowering the whole island at once...hahahahaha) and it started happening again. So I'll try this method and post back later when I find out what's up with it. :thanks:
armageddon818
Ok, now I am starting to think it is something wrong with me...:-( I tried only changing a few things at a time, but it still had errors (not in saving it from the heightmap editor but from saving the file.) Ironically, there was a small square right in the middle which i fixed. it saved, and then when i saved the file it said it had errors. I looked at it again, and lo and behold the spot got BIGGER. This is seriously draining my enthusiasm. :stupid: Seriously, this is a big creative project...I dont discriminate against anyone who might want to help!!! (More because i need it!!!) Umm since the wings have yet to be put on this plane (so its not really even trying to get off the ground yet) almost every aspect of the project is still open. What I am doing:making all of the new icy textures that the new place will need...I think i have about 20 right now which is an excellent start. I have one model in particular done: an icy wall (more of a prototype) (but it is textured and has collision) Making new clothes and weapons (lots of retexturing, some modeling)(Hopefully worldspace...hahahaha) What I need:More competant (than me) modelersIdea peopleFundemental filler (house filling etc.) Anyone interested?! exanimis
Nice work on that ice wall, I hope you consider releasing a modders resource for the ice textures, I could use that in my mod I've found that the solution is usually a simple one but like a riddle, it's hard to figure out. Let's start from the beginning and maybe we can keep this thread alive until someone who knows more than I can help you out. I'm assuming that you have.. Saved this mod as an esp. that you open the CS and choose the esp for this mod from the data tab set this mod as the active mod You edit the worldspace in the hightmap editor and save it. You close the hightmap editor then when you save the esp (active file) that is when you have the problems?
ihateregisteringeverywhere
Looking good. I think you're actualy good enough to tackle the gothic buildings, it's one of the best Ideas I've seen in a long time.
exanimis
I was just looking at your first screenshot. Are those the settings you are saving at?I know that the CS crashed every time I tried to save at those settings for the erosion. Try setting them at 950095 I got those numbers from a tutorial on the wiki and they have worked for me.
armageddon818
Wow, this is the first time people have ever really responded all that much! Thanks! Umm... thank you ihateregisteringeverywhere (awesome name) but i looked at some pictures of gothic and man are those things intricate! As for the erosion settings, thank you as well! I think i had seen those numbers before too, just never thought anything of it. architectural theme: not sure as of right now... Ah...I wish I could change back to the Dragon City mod, but Triforce1 knows (and is currently helping me) with this idea which I have had since a while back in the summer. Thanks SO MUCH for your replies! And yes...everything you said was correct from beginning to end about the heightmap editor. Umm...should i start a new topic did you say? (for the city in general?) or just change to the one already about it (Alsiae) More screenshots i think of other stuff that i did can be found at the Glacia thread from long ago...
