blaz0135 Posted November 9, 2008 Share Posted November 9, 2008 hi i know this sounds weird but i had a problem with my 7zip and because of it i had to delete like over 1000 files off my computer and now i have realized that i accidentally deleted the main Oblivion.esm, so my question is does anyone know where i can get it with out having to have to reinstall my game completely??? blaz0135 Posted November 9, 2008 Author Share Posted November 9, 2008 right now i have been trying to play the game and i think it has more problems because every time i have tried playing it for a minute it stops and says oblivion has stopped working and closes it down. well for more info about my computer its a sort of new hp laptop bought last January it have vista which might make it to where the 7-zip is different but not as much as it well when ever i right clicked on any zip file and clicked 'Extract Files...' under 7-zip i had it on 'No pathnames' which made it to where all the files were just spread out in one file so that made it all just right there in the data folder and also for some reason when ever i extracted the zip files anywhere in the oblivion folder whether it be in data or in oblivion or a folder i made it would have it to click up near 'Organize', 'Views', 'Burn' and click 'Compatibility files' for it to show me what was in the folder and there was a whole bunch of it in my data folder and without thinking i copied it out of the compatibility and pasted it in the normal data folder and than realized its all stuff i can work unless there in the right folder and i dont need it anyway and i think i saw the oblivion.esm but didnt realize what it was so i deleted it with all the other things. basically the only people that should be worried are the people that aren't experienced with mods should take there time and learn how to do anything before they do it!!! As for oblivion not working, that happens to me all the time, i play for a month and oblivion gets so glitchy i can move to a city or my game crashes, thats why i reinstall every once in a while. but with that said, somtimes if you re-install to many times it doesn't work at all...... blaz0135 Posted November 9, 2008 Author Share Posted November 9, 2008 well right now i have had the game for years and for some reason the only glitch i ever got was it deleted all the save out of no where but other than that this it the only time that this has been very glitchy.so right now i have gone though and used OBMM and deleted all the mods i have found to not work with my major mods ex. the 'Unofficial Oblivion Patch' and made sure everything works and that all the mods i have now (all 6 of them) dont conflict with each other.i am probably going to re-install oblivion again in a minute after i get some stuff finished first and than i am going to go in to the game and test to see that everything works.
