Russia2012
I am trying to figure out what is causing crashes when i enter certain cells. My understanding that in Skyrim, a navmesh basically tells npcs where they can go and what they can do. I figure that if there is a navmesh conflict it would more likely result in NPCS acting weird as opposed to crashing to desktop. I figure that if there was a navmesh error that was causing crashes, i would likely know about it quickly. Either the game would crash before I was able to load it or i would always crash when I entered the cell that had the navmesh error. So far as my game loads without issue regardless if it is a new or saved game. I deduce as my CTD problems do not occur everytime i enter a specific cell that my crashing problem likely does not have to do with navmeshes. I noticed that the last crash happened close to the brewery in front of whiterun. Usually, at times when alot of npcs are active.
Shadeybladey
There's a tower up in the snowy North where my followers could not follow, due to a snowy step having a Navmesh error, or missing Navmesh. Having too many spawn points is likely to be a problem. I had several mods which added Stormcloak and Imperial camps, as well as monsters, animals, elementals and wandering groups of NPCs. There was one spot across the river from Whiterun where there was an altar stone and a main, vanilla encounter, and I crashed there every time. I could nudge forward 1 step at a time and it crashed at exactly the same spot. This was a Vanilla encounter, vanilla animals, modded encounters, modded animals, and a Stormcloak camp nearby. when I got too close, Game Go Bang. This was in addition to crashes outside Whiterun and Solitude at the same points. So although disrupting the navmesh can cause problems with the main game or mods in the same area, I really don't know about crashes. But having too many spawn points can certainly be a problem. Good Luck.
