antstubell
I've made transparent textures before in Gimp - sucessfully. But this texture just won't go transparent. I've tried it as a JPG and DDS format. here's what I get.https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=B60C11D037429D8E&id=B60C11D037429D8E%2151484&parId=B60C11D037429D8E%21191&o=OneUp https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=B60C11D037429D8E&id=B60C11D037429D8E%2151476&parId=B60C11D037429D8E%21191&o=OneUpHelp please. IsharaMeradin
Looks transparent to me. You have the transparent background and that is visible around the edges. Have you tried it in game? That is the real test for transparency. If necessary, you may need to flatten the image. I seem to recall having issues with textures that had not been flattened or had all the visible layers manually merged into one layer (same result as flattening but only with layers being used rather than every layer. antstubell
Should I flatten as the first thing i.e. before anything else?
antstubell
Tried flatten before using Fuzzy select > alpha channel greyed-out so exists > clear and in render window I see this.https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=B60C11D037429D8E&id=B60C11D037429D8E%2151485&parId=B60C11D037429D8E%21191&o=OneUp
IsharaMeradin
Does your NIF file have the correct node / settings for transparency? I don't remember what it is off the top of my head. But I know I needed to set a certain value to have transparent parts of a mesh otherwise I would get white as you have. And do all your editing / tweaking prior to flattening / merging that way if you have more than one layer with edits you want they all get merged together. I have no idea how you are doing your image or what you need to do. I'm merely referring back to when I did some outfit recolors and had multiple colors on different parts. I had to merge each layer I wanted into a single one and export that as the DDS. I could have any number of hidden layers I wanted, I just had to have a single visible layer. If that makes any sense. thumbincubation
I think the mesh needs a ni alpha property. If I recall correctly, Elianora has a transparency tutorial on youtube. It's intended for Fallout 4 armor, but the same thing works for Skyrim meshes. I used it in a couple of my mods.
maxarturo
As posted above. Withought a "NifAlphaProperty" in your "NiTriShape", transparency will never show up in game. Also you'll need to set the "NifAlphaProperty" > "Threshold", full transparency =
antstubell
Sorry took so long to get back to this post.Yep, indeed NifAlphaProperty required.Couldn't find a tutorial from Elianora about transparency but some great stuff about 'Glossiness and Shine.'Thankings....
