GirlGamer55
I'm sick and tired of the god damn GECK crashing every time I save making it so I can't work on my mod. I'm trying to make a house mod so I'm filling up the rooms, when I save now it crashes. So I thought ok...it was something I added. I litterally took out EVERYTHING I added to that room from the last time I opened up my mod. Still crashes. Now i'm stuck with an unfinished mod. I would start over but I worked on this for weeks. What the hell is wrong with the GECK and how can I make it so I can work on my mod?
Quetzlsacatanango
One thing I know will make it crash on save is if your plugin has an esm extension but is really an esp. Also, Rae Carruth is the biggest POS in the world.
TrickyVein
Cut your losses and start fresh. Read the GECK wiki page and figure out what you did wrong. You cannot fault the software. This is how we learn.
GirlGamer55
It's an esp...not an esm. Made sure of that. As for TrickyVein...I'v been doing this for a few years. I know what to do and what not to do. And the GECK is a POS. I blame it because i'm not the only one who has issues with it. It's a horrible buggy mess. nivea
Naw the Creation Kit for Skyrim, that is a POS. Geck bless its little heart is buggy, but 90% of the time it works fine for me and it doesnt require a dog and pony show to do most things. My suggestion is remove any texture replacers, and move any .esp/.esm you do not need into a different folder. I find when you have a large amount of texture mods and a large amount of plugins GECK tends to crash a lot more. Also make sure your ini files are not causing the issue as well, I find editing those can cause problems at times as well. asdfpepper
Try running it in compatibility mode as an administrator.
CaptMitch
you could try the 4gb .exe patch use it on the GECK.exe to open it up to use more memory... i did this and i cannot remember the last time mine crashed on me. Hope this helps ;)
