TacticalAce
Is it because of copy rights with real guns? I ask because it would be a shame when fallout 4 comes out to not have real world weapons.
wetblanket
I doubt it. As far as I know it's to do with unauthorised use of third party models on the whole. This is not necessarily the direct fault of the mod author (there are users who have passed off the work of others as their own and uploaded as resources) nevertheless it is the responsibility of the mod author to ensure all assets used are legit. This site, quite rightly, doesn't tolerate such shenanigans.
TacticalAce
So its not the weapons themselves its just modders using other peoples work?
nivea
One modder uploads stolen weapons and claims they made them, another modder nicely asks the thief if they may use the weapons in their own mod, thief says yes, both modders get banned or in trouble for uploading stolen content. While its not the 2nd modders total fault, as a modder you should always do your best to look over stuff closely... If it looks professional or to good to be true, it most likely is... Also save PMs if you can, as proof. I believe that is what wetblanket was getting at, a lot of times the 2nd modder can return to Nexus if they file a appeal and politely explain.
