rick0307
I was having a problem with conversations overlapping, and I noticed that, also, my movement speeds are really fast. Too fast, like running puts me into the opposite wall in microseconds. Walking is faster than Skyrim running, even modded. I have not directly changed any ini files, but I do use Bethini, the recommended tweaks only. Save and exit. My video card runs hot for this game always, whereas SSE, heavily modded, runs cool and quiet except in menus, which I expect.. How do I slow down this game??? Unusual, I know. lol "Verify Install" did not change anything. Edited November 15, 2019 by rick0307
rick0307
NVM. Apparently my new video card really can run at 300 FPS. I did not know that. When I turned that (default setting) down to 60, things got a lot better. Thanks!
StormWolf01
Heya Rick. Literally "Faster than the eye can follow"! Hahaha.Well, I'm glad you got it sorted out. And found out good things about your new vid card! :DThanks for posting what caused it, and the fix, in case anybody else has similar issues. ;)
rick0307
The worst part was overlapping conversations. Like 3 lines spoken at once. Cartoon-blur speed, right into a wall, was not as much fun as you might imagine.
StormWolf01
Hahahaha, I actually DO know. I'm running three companions at once right now, so yeah....the idle chatter and whatnot. Yep.Inside vault 111 I have to go into sneak mode, because otherwise I miss a lot of the turns, run right off the side of the ramp to the vault door, miss the stairs back up to the ramp, basically bump and bruise my poor pixel person all to hell and back. Same with the stairs inside Home Plate. Or... a lot of other stairs, lol.Once outside the vault, my fps evens back out, so it's not so bad, other than sometimes my crosshairs flash around too quick. And since I just got a better controller, I'm literally having to relearn how to manually aim non-scoped firearms. To the point that I get so frustrated, I just go for the vats kills just to get it over with.Ya know.... now I'm really thinking about looking into limiting my fps too. Cheers! bs99amb
I have recently built a new PC: RTX 3070, 32gb ram OC'd core i9, liquid cooled, 240hz monitor. When i started up fallout 4 it was running way too fast, just as described here. I fixed it by leaving g-sync on and setting the ipresent interval = 4 in all three ini files, (i followed a youtube video). This fixed the problem for me. i also use the loading screen accelerator mod. Edited June 4, 2021 by bs99amb
