Difference between modtype "dinput" and "enb"?

Vortex can do that with the mod types dinput and enb. Both install mods to the game base folder, but...I couldn't find any difference between the two. I have installed enb with modtype dinput for testing purpose and it just works, SKSE with modtype enb as well.

I didn't know that Vortex would do this! How is this done in practice? Download but not install, double click on the mod entry and choose modtype, then install?

Is this info that can be placed in a fomod?

Yeah, just tried testing this with an enb, and strangely it did not preserve the directory structure in the rar, or maybe this is intentional? The rar has the enblocal.ini and enbseries.ini in the root, and the /enbseries **folder** also at the root. When I picked enb as a type, and then enabled, it placed the file contents of the /enbseries folder in the root along with the ini's. It did preserve the other folders under /enbseries, but it was strange that it moved those files in the folder up to the game directory root.
