chazzranger
Been working on a Breezehome mod on and off for a looong time, learning more about modding as I've gone along. I just learned it's very bad to delete vanilla navmesh? I feel almost done this mod... but now if I remember correctly, I deleted all the vanilla Breezehome indoor navmesh and built my own. Is my mod hooped?
c0ax599
Same Question. I've built a player house, and when placing it outdoors, i deleted all navmeshes underneath where the house was placed, then filled in the gaps around it manually. Hopefully that was ok, made sense to me at the time.
thumbincubation
As far as I know, deleting the entirety of navmesh in an interior cell, then re-navmeshing it, is ok. The issue you may encounter with Breezehome is that the original vanilla navmesh was changed with Hearthfire, to account for the kids' room. What you probably want to do, if you didn't already have Hearthfire as one of the mod's masters, is open it in creation kit with Hearthfire selected too, re-delete the navmesh and redo it. That should alleviate any issues you have with it. Navmeshing Breezehome is pretty quick and easy, if you're not going super detailed. I like to make walkways, like a sidewalk, rather than navmesh the entire space. That keeps my followers from treadmilling against things, but they can still use the furniture. Outdoor navmesh, as I understand it, is harder. Deleting part of an exterior cell navmesh and building new navmesh onto it is said to generate different ID numbers and cause crashes. There's a procedure where you can select exterior navmesh and separate it from the rest, before deleting it, which helps you avoid deleted navmesh issues. Adding to the remainder then just takes it as an extension of the original. Here's the tutorial. I believe Jenncave's original is available as well, where this author got the information from, but hers is done in FO4. Same rules apply.
