euphoriaalpha
i was wondering how you can create your own skyrim mods, such as creating your very own character or making a house?
Rabbit1251
First you will need the Skyrim Creation Kit and you can download that from Steam. Rabbit

slainia
Question, sort of related... What program - or method - lets people like InsanitySorrow, or this mod author http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16525 create non-static items? Ie inventory items that are scaled down models of ingame features like statues or whatever?
rarborman
Inventory items use 1st person meshes I believe, dont use one you dont have an inventory model shown and it just carries the model over from the last thing you retrieved a mesh for (looked at in your inventory). I'm not sure how they are made but tutorials should tell you... If I'm wrong dont blame me I've not been able to make them.

Open the mesh you want to miniaturize in the NifSkope, rescale it, save with a new filename.Open the CreationKit duplicate one inventory item with similar proprities, rename it, change some details, select your new scaled NIF, place the new item somewhere in the game world, save your mod.???profit
AnkhAscendant
To add on to the above, to make non-static versions of static things you have to add weight and mass to them, otherwise they just kinda hang there in the air and you can't do much with them. That actually the only thing I've successfully done with NifSkope ^^;
