how to use a weapon?

sorry new to the game and don't know how to use a weapon

After your weapon is selected in the Pipboy you can also equip and unequip it by holding the "R" key for a few seconds.

Oh, some final instructions...

 

Step 1 : Aim, pull the trigger... repeat.

 

Step 2 : In case you get a loud 'Click' instead of loud 'Bang' you have to reload.

 

After reload, proceed with Step 1.

When you are in your Weapons screen you can hold keys 1 - 8 to assign a weapon to a hotkey. This saves you from having to always go to your PipBoy when changing weapons.
