DickyDee
Yeah, I am profoundly confused. Cleaning does nothing. Is it possible that this black face occurs because of some ENB or Skyrim.ini setting I'm unaware of? Edit: Alright, I did some experimenting. Seems like Wico and Ordinary Women work fine in an empty load order. Yet for whatever reason, I still get problems with Bijin and Pandorable as well as Better Men and Male NPC overhaul. Not sure what's up with that. Edited November 27, 2019 by DickyDee
Grospolina
Can you post a screenshot with just one of the Bijin mods (not AIO) active? Sometimes you can tell which head mesh it's trying to use, or if it's not using any. With Bijin, it should be pretty obvious if they're wrong. An ENB setting wouldn't cause the same kind of problem - it might make neck seams more obvious though. Also, you can toggle ENB on and off with Shift+F12 (usually) to see if that's the problem. I can't think of any INI settings that could cause it. Edited November 28, 2019 by Grospolina
DickyDee
Messed around with other mods. After doing exporting with Kallies NPC overhaul, this is the result:https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/775112350260511998/C88188920A3A9151047FDDA1333ED535174EC5D3/ https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/775112350260512373/E4D201E836A4965E57E723D0C543957110054E32/ https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/30247 Not black face, but it's clearly far off from what they're supposed to look like in game. It seems like facegen data is not loading properly for whatever reason. This was loaded with nothing else in the load order btw. Could it be that these mods have other mod requirements I'm unaware of? That's odd to me because Bijin worked for me fine without any additional mods in my LE playthrough. As for Bijin, this is what I got with JUST wives loaded. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/775112350260625254/D5B0E8999DBADD45EC429080495EE63C6AB5F2B7/ Dunno how helpful it is for you. Grospolina
Thanks for posting the pictures. They do help. What do you mean "after doing exporting" with Kallies NPCs? Why are you exporting? Exporting doesn't always fix faces, since the FaceGen meshes (NIF) might be custom-made. The CK will only rebuild the faces from the face data in the ESP (morph sliders, eyes, brows, hair, etc.). What does it look like if you use the original files? I can see from your Bijin screenshot that Ysolda does have the dark face bug and that her face shape is wrong, but her hair is correct. This tells me that it's not loading the FaceGen mesh from a different mod. Also, that the hair and body textures are installed correctly. For some reason, it's not matching with her NPC record. If you check your Plugins tab, is Bijin Wives.esp enabled there? What ESPs are below it?

Well, initially with Kallie's I was getting black face so I used the CK export method a lot of people seem to recommend. There aren't any activated below it that would change Ysolda's face. Grospolina
It doesn't matter. Any change to an NPC record has the potential to cause the dark face bug. For instance, the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch shouldn't change any faces, yet it contains many FaceGen meshes because of fixes to NPCs. DickyDee
I mean, it's not like taking out USSEP made it go away.
Grospolina
I didn't suggest removing USSEP. Post your load order. Are you starting a new game to test this each time?
DickyDee
I didn't suggest removing USSEP. Post your load order. Are you starting a new game to test this each time?Uhhh not even sure what that would accomplish given that I'm literally loading these with no other mods installed. And yeah, I've started a lot of new games. I think the real issue here is trying to figure out how to get facegen data loaded properly. Anytime I use the CK export feature it either just reverts it to vanilla face with the proper hair or black face. Not sure what other method I could use for this. Zombie1Boy
Did you start a new game or did you install the mod during a playthrough? NPC face replacers tend to go wonky if you install them during a playthrough. Just saying since i haven't seen any mention of it and its usually the overlooked simple problems that tend to get missed.
