Jakorap
The laptop that I have my Fallout: New Vegas Nexus Mod Manger mods installed on is going to be serviced soon. How can I transfer all of my NMM mods to my other laptop? Does the NMM keep a list (like a text file or something) of all of the mods I installed with NMM? I do know that the Nexus site does keep track of my downloads but only for this month since I'm not a member. Since I use F:NV on Steam, I think my saves will be uploaded to Steamworks/the steam cloud. If I copy my current New Vegas folder (in the Steam folder in program files) to an external hard drive, can I just replace the copied folder with the New Vegas folder on my other laptop? Will I then have to manually activate each mod in the NMM? Should I just take screenshots of my NMM Plugins and Mods tab, as well screenshots of my New Vegas game directory and the Data folder, and then re-download the mods from the Nexus site based on the screenshots? Thanks!

I use Steam and want to install Fallout 3 on my laptop - so I can play while away from home - and was wary about exactly HOW to get it all ported over with the mods, and without breaking things.I was thinking that any custom settings or utilities - like FOSE or Stutter Remover - would also need to be copied over from the Fallout Game install folder. Likewise, backup your Fallout 3 settings folder containing the .ini files as well, and just coy those over.Settings are usually located in; C:\Users\NAME\Documents\my games\Fallout3 Edited October 26, 2012 by acelogan

I don't have a Mods folder or Install Info folder in my New Vegas directory. You will only have those folders IF you have used NMM to install mods -- that's where NMM keeps the mods you download. I don't recall that being the case.Did you install your Nexus Mod Manager in the Fallout New Vegas program folder?Yeesh and Yikes. I am not certain, but seems like that could cause problems down the line.I installed the NMM on it's own in my Games hard drive directory. I redirected the NMM game mods directory folder to save on a completely separate hard drive than the game and the actual NMM program.I:\GameBackup\Nexus Mod Manager\Fallout3\ModsI:\GameBackup\Nexus Mod Manager\Fallout3\Install Info All the mods installed and active in the game will also be in the \Fallout New Vegas\data folder; but you shouldn't copy that over, as I'm almost certain doing so could cause issues in the new install. So, as stated, copy and save the Mods and Install Info folders from the Nexus Mod Manager directory location to where-ever you need to be able to access them from - I use an external drive. Then install NMM on your new computer, copy the backups and paste into the new NMM specific game Mods and Install Info directory (overwriting the new empty ones.Make sense? Why doesn't it sound right? The NMM installs (by default) to \Program Files\Nexus Mod Manager\and (by default) stores downloaded mods to \Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas\mods\and install info (by default) to \Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas\Install Info\ These can be configured by the user -- install folder at installation, and mods & install info via options. blove
Hmm, that must have changed recently because the default installation location for NMM and FNV mods was "C:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\FalloutNV\...".

If the option is available, I almost always choose my own custom locations for content folders and the like, on just about anything I install.I find keeping them in a separate disk or partition from the primary program operation drive just runs better - not to mention keeps the disk space usage down so more programs can fit.
