ghost969silence
Ok so I've been tinkering with A VAST amount of character models and I've got 99.9% of basics down pat , vtf files turning them into bmp, then into dd3's. etc etc my question is : Does anyone know how to do a full character model port of a gmod model into skyrim as a new race ? * and if not a new race just a functional companion / npc ????? granted i'm sure there will be many dibs and dabs that have to be adjusted but, is there a way? Lanceor
I have next to no knowledge on porting meshes but here's the first question on everyone's lips: Has the distribution of GMod assets explicitly been granted? This is usually in the form of the copyright holder giving you permission in writing, or a blanket statement that the game's assets can be used in other games (such as with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.). Without such permission, you wouldn't be able to upload and share it so keep that in mind if you're deciding whether or not to learn porting the meshes. For the specific character model that shall stay unnamed for right now yes, I was granted allowance to use his meshes / textures, though I cannot link to his site because bluntly put its very adult explicit. 2.) This is more or less for personal learning and exceeding my boundaries as a modder, but in the future the knowledge gained would be geared towards productions so more or less yes it is worth it ^.^
Lanceor
Ah, it's a mod for Garry's Mod and you have permission from the mod creator. In that case, everything is sweet. :)
Regox
I hate to bring a thread back from the dead, but did anyone ever have any luck converting gmod ragdolls into skyrim as a race or armour set? If so, how?
InsanityMuncher
No clue. :/ If I find something out, though, I'll let you know.
Ligh7bulb
It's easy enough to convert armor from one game to another. Right now i'm doing the same for my World of Warcraft mod.Quick screenie Reveal hidden contents http://i.imgur.com/KEOiLTf.jpg
