Daermonster
Most already know about the Ck fixes mod... Then there's obvious ones like BAE, SSEDIT, NifOptimizer... But somebody just clued me in to using Additem menu to check out armor my mods add and make sure textures etc are loaded properly. This will save me heaps of time in the future. It also got me thinking about other mods that ya'll might use that help you make a mod better and faster. Maybe a savegame start file you'd recommend? I dunno, I'm just curious as to what else I could be missing that can make my life and workload easier...So what if anything do you use that may seem like "duh" to you but might be overlooked by greenhorns like me. (I'm not really a greenhorn btw, it just seems less embarrassing if I say I am lol.)
Niborino9409
Might not be overlooked but coc to a location right from the main menu  Much faster than going through menus. Edited November 29, 2019 by Niborino9409
cumbrianlad
I just found out about clicking in the render window and hitting the / key to bring up picking options. i used to manually select statics that I wanted to copy from one cell to another. Now I can select statics only select the whole lot in one go and leave all the furniture, activators lights etcetera behind. Saves heaps of time. When navmeshing cells with water I've seen lots of tutorials telling you to navmesh over the water, toggle water for the triangles and then manually drag all the nodes down to the river bed. What a ridiculous waste of time! I navmesh up to the water's edge, drag the water down, then navmesh the river bed normally and toggle water. Then simply drag the water back up to match the mesh. Another one I love is ctrl T to toggle tree selection off. helps a lot when placing objects or navmesh anywhere near one of those stupid things. Before I found that I put heaps of things in tree tops! What I'd really love is for someone to add Layers to CK, like they have for the Fallout 4 kit. it would make life so much easier in those fiddly interiors with multiple floors if you could turn off everything except for the floor you were working on. Maybe it's not possible, though.
thumbincubation
Selecting something (or several somethings) and hitting the 1 key, twice, will hide it. Hit the 1 key a 3rd time to bring it back. If you've selected things, hidden them, selected more things and hidden them, ALT + 1 should bring them all back, unless something was accidentally left selected, and then you use f5 instead. Items are only hidden and cannot be selected, but will still appear in game, and will reappear in CK next time it is started, if you forget to unhide them. Very helpful for getting crap out of the way so you can work, like tower ceilings, chandeliers, light sources, troublesome banners, etc. It does work on water, as well. Hitting the 1 key only once semi-hides items. You can still see them, but they are half transparent and not selectable. Good for furnishing inside small areas, so you can still see where to line things up. Sometimes harder to recover using ALT+1, better to use f5 for these. davethepak
Not really a ..trick.When comparing items, I take screen shots of one, and then use it to compare to others - makes it easier when looking at changes. I also keep a spreasheet listing my changes, and variables. of if I have something that works well and want to refer to it later, I save the screen shot. Evangela
Collision geometry has to be turned on for Skyrim SE CK if you want to select any statics with an ice shader. I think it's F4.
