SirGrimbold
Update - SOLVED see first post on page 2 Up to date version, Win7x64, bunch of mods - tho none added recently that might have caused this - just got finished canvasing Blackreach. This effect always appears when loading a game - i DO NOT have any autosaves before getting this - and I am 2 months into playing. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/MD_Sennet/glitch1_zps2b47fcfd.jpg Let me 1st list the solutions that HAVE NOT WORKED: - removespell xxxxxxxx - have tried several enemies that I encountered in Blackreach (centurion, dwarven spider/sphere, wisp, falmer), and tried ALL of their respective "SPL" listings via PgUpPgDn.- become ethereal shout - seems similar to that right? tried using it, tried removing it's effects via "help", nothing- dispelallspells - nope- showracemenu - made no changes - it works, but only until load again OR going 1st person.- sexchange x2 - works but only until load again OR going 1st person. Tried taking off all equipment/weapons n reloading. Tried sleeping. The area in which I first noticed this was not going away was inside the "fortress" in the center of Blackreach with the big yellow sun thing. Killed some falmers and humans there. I have a video if anyone needs it - ~66mb Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am halfway done Dawnguard and ready to start Act 2 of main quest. SirGrimbold
Can anyone identify what effect this is? The smoke sort of swirls around above me and seems to billow out circularly below the hips. Anyone know what creature or spell effect this might be and the corresponding id code? SirGrimbold
Quick update: started up the game and went exploring random and the effect seems to duplicate on EVERY load, but at one point it only had the lower smoke "cloud" billowing effect (without the upper swirling smoke effect - a clear indication that I am suffering from 2 different effects?) pic:http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/MD_Sennet/glitch2_zpsf709dc46.jpg
varakz
It looks cool! But it is not natural I'll give you that :)Have you tried to deactivate your bunch of mods one at a time and to check the smoke in the game? PS:You can see what effects your character has by pressing "P" button.
SirGrimbold
It's not on the Active Effects screen, no. I've tested a lot of creature effects that show up there, when applied. They overlay the existing smoke crap, but disappear when i remove those spells. This persists. I don't know how a mod would have caused it. I had loaded almost all my mods up when I started the game this summer, 2 months ago, and this happened last night. It's clearly some kind of creature/item effect that was supposed to stop or was not intended to be applied. It's def NOT cool either, I cannot see anything in 1st person, and if I go into any close quarters, like a falmer tent, in 3rd person it's just ridiculous. varakz
Well it is an active effect on your character. A mod can do it by the papyrus command: Game.GetPlayer().ApplySpell("Constant Self Spell Effect"). So, have you tried to explore the most obvious cause of this nice effect by deactivating the bunch of your mods? Derax
Common bug, i had a spriggan effect with me all the time.. you have to see what effect it is add the spell and then delete the spell! Only removing the spell won't be sufficent.
ginnyfizz
Yep I suddenly acquired the Draugr effect on one characters eyes, used the addspell removespell thing. I wonder if there is a list of all possible magic effects somewhere with their ID's? Will check that out.
SirGrimbold
A mod can do it by the papyrus command: Game.GetPlayer().ApplySpell("Constant Self Spell Effect").Can you clarify this statement? I am unfamiliar with papyrus commands. Where would I type/look for the above text? Common bug, i had a spriggan effect with me all the time.. you have to see what effect it is add the spell and then delete the spell! Only removing the spell won't be sufficent.Well, that's what I'm hoping somebody can help with. I clearly have 2 different smoke effects going, but all the obvious ones didn't work. How do you know simply removing them won't be enough? Yep I suddenly acquired the Draugr effect on one characters eyes, used the addspell removespell thing. I wonder if there is a list of all possible magic effects somewhere with their ID's? Will check that out. That would be great. There has to be some kind of modder's resource list for this. I just don't know where to look, or if this is the correct forum.
steve40
Have you tried activating a shrine. I think that dispels any magic effects on you. Or try something like this. edit: it looks like the wispmother fx bug. Try this fix, but it will remove the effect entirely from the game. Ideally, try to figure out the ID of the wispmother spell then use the console add/remove spell trick. Edited October 31, 2012 by steve40
