Soo uhh yea.. the cart I'm on at the beginning is flying uncontrollably

So I spent some time downloading a s*!t ton of mods, some of which might be important to mention.

skyUI

skse64 (the version compatible to the current skyrim version 2.0.17 - 1.5.97)

unofficial skyrim special edition patch

skyrim immersive creatures v6

Race Menu Special edition

cbbe smp

fnis behavior se

cbpc fomod

lazy tools

and etc... etc...

So with that in mind. Can anyone help me out by explaining why the f**k am I flying the second I started the game? The carriage I'm on with the fellow meme guy and the 2 edgelords are having their dialogue while we're going up and down, side to side, spinning like a cotton candy machine and just half into the dialogue, the game crashes (obviously....)

any solution or ideas to fix this?

Also I did a manual download for Guts' dragonslayer and a redesign of night mother (yea... the hot necro version :P) I don't know if this information helps. Thank you! :D

oK SO IMPORTANT NOTE. I loaded the game without using skse64 shortcut.. that stopped the cart from flying around but I get the notification about it not being detected or something.... and about less than 30 feet from where you start to see, the horse refuses to turn and just keeps walking towards a rock. I waited for the dialogue to exhaust and were all stuck in the same spot... the horse just keeps doing it's movement animation, not moving an inch, blocked by a rock infront of a turn... I'm guessing this might be skse's doing....

I haven't (fortunately) experienced it myself, but possibly this is the fix you're looking for.

good luck!

awesome, thank you so much it stopped but now I noticed that certain pieces of the carts are highlighted blue, the hinges holding the horse rope, and the bar holding the rear wheels is blue... I'm guessing there's a mod for that as well?

I don't know. To be honest, I never encountered the issue myself and simply checked (net query) to see if there was a solution for you.

I'd recommend that you visit the mod and read the "posts" tab thoroughly to see if anyone has encountered those visual artifacts, along with any references to solutions they came up with. You could probably post a query there as well, since mod "posts" tabs are usually the best way to get targeted responses for individual mod issues.

ok then, thanks! I appreciate the help though. you're awesome!

edit: I took your advice and read through the posts on that mod link you sent me, supposedly it needs the full 1000mb SMIM mod to fix the "missing" textures lol. I think that should do the trick.. if it does, you have my upmost respect, good sir!

That may fix the cart issue for you, but it may be an indicator of further problems.

Typically, stuff flying around randomly or hanging around frozen in midair means problems with physics. The Havok physics engine is dependent on a framerate of 60 fps. If the framerate goes over that, then the engine explodes because it updates faster than it should. There are two ways to fix this issue:

  1. Change [HAVOK] fMaxTime (in seconds) to a value that corresponds to your framerate. e.g. 60 fps -> 1/60 = 0.0166
  2. Cap your framerate to 60 fps.

Since you probably want to play at a higher framerate, you can try the mod (SKSE64) Havok Fix. It dynamically changes your fMaxTime to correspond to current framerate. The alternative would be to set it permanently in Skyrim.ini to correspond to your maximum framerate.

Otherwise, you can cap your framerate at 60 fps. There are various ways to do this. ENB can handle it, or you can use an external program. Turning on VSync can work if you have a 60 Hz monitor, but I don't think that it works in borderless windowed mode.

Are you using ANY mods that change horse functionality? Sometimes the game, for what ever reason, reads those lines of code and it basically brainfarts and says, "Derp! This is not how horses are programmed in this game. CRITITCAL ERROR! Must shut down immediately!"

I just make a vanilla save just before I exit the Helgen cave (after whomever you chose to follow after the dragon attack exits the cave) and actually enter Skyrim proper......And use the Character Creation Overhaul to adjust my character. I create a skyrim backup folder and lay that particular save in that folder and start every new play through via that save. Just prefer that to alternate start mods. You could also download a vanilla save that was saved just after the cart ride and start from that.

Oh, i also wait for all of the mods I have loaded (currently 93) and SKYUI/MCM scripts to execute before exiting the cave...This includes notorious scripted mods like Immersive Armor's.
OMT, it could also be fnis behavior se.
