FNVEdit Doesn't Recognize FO3 DLC or TTW.esm

I wanted to try my hand at a simple TTW mod conversion for Wasteland Travelers. However, even though the game plays fine and FNVEdit does recognize them when looking at my data folder, when I click on Wasteland Travelers.esp and it loads up a list of masters, nothing after Fallout3.esm appears. No DLC.esm, no TTW.esm, nothing.

I'm confused because this is all highly automated and I have seen no one else reporting this issue. I have no modding experience whatsoever and so I'm totally lost given the program is just supposed to find them no problem and indeed no one else has had this problem but me it seems.

Any help would be appreciated.

FNVEdit will only show the masters required by the file chosen. Fallout3.esm is the only master required by MTC Wasteland Travelers.

But I specifically looked at a video on converting FO3 mods and even used the same file used as a demonstration in that video. In the video, all the FO3 DLC and TTW showed up in their FNVEdit.

That is one of the problems with videos. They don't always explain everything you see in order to keep it as short as possible.

Also bear in mind that FNVEdit is an evolving tool. Which version was used in the video and which are you using now?

The important thing is that you have the required FO3 files without unnecessary ones. You can trim it down even further by using a "load order" with only what is absolutely required for FNV in that situation as well. (This is the recommended practice for creating any mod, to avoid unintended consequences.)

What you are learning is the "process", not the steps for that exact mod. You have to be able to apply the lesson to other similar situations. This isn't like memorizing math or alphabet tables, which are exactly the same from one situation to another. If you aren't grasping the technique and how it applies in it's variations to other instances, you need to look at other videos as well. Not all are equally good teachers.
