Possibly dumb mod use question

Before reading this, remember: the only dumb question is the un-asked one

Having said that, dumb question:

Is it necessary to start a new game in order for added mods to work or can they be run with a game already in progress? I recall having to consistently start new games with Morrowind, but wasn't sure if New Vegas had been made more mod-friendly.

Thanks

It depends on the mod really. Most mods would NOT require a full restart as it would add the content to the current game, But some mods might require you to be below a certain stage.

As long as you did not have a previous version of the mod installed you for the most part should be fine. As always read the description of the mod to me sure.

Once a new mod is loaded, no matter where you are in the game it will take immediate effect. Quest related ones where you've already completed the modified quest will most likely of course not work for obvious reasons.

And don't demean yourself. No one should think less of you just for a question.

Mainly looking at armor/weapon plug ins

But was also looking at A World of Pain.

If I have to restart, it's not the end of the world. I actually just got back into the game and restarted a new character, but have done a bit of leveling now and don't really want to start over again. Stopped playing for awhile and forgot what I was doing
