I went and did Bleak Falls Barrow without the quest, went to Whiterun, enter the hall and the standard argument that you see when you first go there plays as normal. Then the dark elf pulls her sword and goes "what is the meaning of this interruption" but wont actually engage in dialogue with me, interacting with her just causes her to repeat this. I try and ignore her and walk up to the Jarl (as she simply follows me with sword drawn) and when I interact with him he just gets all pissy I interrupted him (even though they stopped talking) and wont go into conversation. I have left and waited 24 hours and reloaded an old save with nothing changing. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Georgiegril Posted November 4, 2012 Share Posted November 4, 2012 Did you ever talk to the smith (or whoever you talk to if you follow the strom cloaks) and get the conversation about going to Whiterun to tell Balgruuf about the dragons? It may be that somehow you missed a trigger somehow. I's go back and talk to the Riverwood people and see if you can get that bit of dialogue, and make sure you choose the answer that accepts it. Other than that, it might be that you have in some other way skipped a trigger and maybe you could try going back to a save before Bleak Falls, go to Whiterun, and then back to bleak falls after getting the quest?
