Question about SKSE

I just started using SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender) this week or so, and am wondering how long it usually takes them to update it? Since, with yesterdays steam patch it says I need to update it, and I don't want to try and run it through steam without SKSE and the mods I have for it.

I been running the Released version, I see a Beta, but am not sure if I should try that or wait for an updated release version.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thank's

The beta version should allow most mods to function to a degree on the 1.8 patch.

My current game only has one SKSE mod and with the beta version plus toggling that mod's ini setting to "auto-update" allows both to work with the 1.8 patch. However, it is possible that there were other changes and not all SKSE mods will function as expected. Nor does every mod have the ability to update itself to use a newer version of SKSE, so you may still get warnings about incompatible versions etc...

NMM has nothing to do with SKSE. As far as NMM goes SKSE dosen't exist except that it has the ability to launch the game with the SKSE launcher.

The mod itself has to have the ability built in to try and update/adapt itself to a new version of SKSE. The one I use is Uncapper and it's ini file has such an entry. Without setting that, it would warn me of the incompatible SKSE and it wouldn't work at all.
