IsharaMeradin
With the upgrade to 1.8, I decided to start a new game after uninstalling all mods and verifying my game files. As I reinstalled my mod files for body & head, I noticed a massive neck seam. Which was odd because this same setup was seamless last time. Since I use my mod Unique Races (UR), I had modified how the face mod All In One Face (AIOF) installs. Last time I had made the unique locations for it but had left the default install location alone. Since my last update moved the Nord race from using the default location, I had changed the install setup for AIOF to not use the default location at all. But I had not yet used this new build... With nothing body/head related installed to the default location, I had a neck seam even tho the face 'looked' right and the body 'looked' right. Because all I had changed was how the head textures & the head mesh provided by AIOF were installed, it boiled down to an issue with that. At first I put the texture files back into the default location and no seam. But why was this happening, the texture sets in the Creation Kit (CK) were clearly pulling from the reassigned location. I went to the custom head mesh supplied by AIOF and modified the texture assignment there to point to the specific race texture set in which this version of the head mesh was assigned. Checked it out in game and the neck seam was gone and everything was proper for that particular race. After all that, it occurs to me that for some odd reason, unlike the body, the head mesh retains some or all of it's texture assignments and blends that with those assigned in the CK via the texture sets. Anyone have any thoughts as to why the head would behave differently than the body in this regard? EDIT: I narrowed it down to needing the _s & _sk textures assigned to the mod specific/race specific location on the head mesh. I'm positive that all texture sets are properly assigned in the CK, but until I can access my mod again in the CK I won't know for sure. The thing is if I screwed it up in the CK then I did so for ALL the modified races. I could understand one or two but not all. I suppose it is possible too that the texture set isn't replacing those two texture assignments as it should. i.e. a bug in the stock game. IsharaMeradin
Now that the CK update is out. I can confirm that all texture sets are properly assigned, however the _s & _sk maps are not being used. Those texture maps are solely using what is assigned on the nif file itself.
