HadesXVX
Hello. So i haven't played Fallout 4 for a while and this past week I wanted to play it again. I upgraded the game and F4SE but my save wont load and the game wont start a new game. (infinite loading). So I tried everything (script cleaning, unlocked FPS, deleted old saves, disabled every single mod, etc) with no luck. So my last resource is to reinstall the game and start from scratch, but my only concern are the mods, I don't mind reinstalling them but my Vortex manages mods for Fallout 4 and Skyrim, I was reading and if you want to start afresh you have to delete and uninstall Vortex as well but i don't want to lose my Skyrim mods since the game is working with no issues, so is there a way to just remove my mods from one game without affecting the other game? Thanks for your help, greatly appreciated.
AugustaCalidia
When you talk about "deleting and uninstalling" Vortex, are you using "delete" as a synonym for "uninstall," or is deleting a separate process from uninstalling? Anyway, "deleting and uninstalling" Vortex doesn't affect your mods, provided you haven't made the mistake of placing your downloads folder and/or mod staging folders in the Vortex program folder itself. Uninstalling Vortex uninstalls the Vortex program itself and nothing more. If your current Vortex installation is working for Skyrim, that would suggest that your Fallout 4 problems are not Vortex related. However, if you want to "start afresh" by removing Vortex, then you can do so without compromising your current mod setup. Frankly, however, I see no reason to take that step. If you think you need to fiddle with Vortex, then just reinstall over the existing Vortex installation.

Yeah I know Vortex is not the problem, but I tried every single solution and FO4 is still not working so reinstalling FO4 is the only option now but I was just wondering how to handle Vortex in this situation. AugustaCalidia
If you want to start afresh with Fallout 4 by uninstalling it, then you may also want to delete the Fallout 4 folder found (by default) in {User}\ AppData\Roaming\Vortex, the Fallout 4 folder found (by default) in {User}\AppData\Local, and the Fallout 4 folder found in Documents\My Games. Since Vortex is not the problem, there is no need to fiddle with the Vortex program files. The only Fallout 4 materials you may want to leave untouched are your downloaded Fallout 4 archives, found (by default) in {User}\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\Downloads.
