ulera
On the quest alduin's bane. According to the wiki attacking him before he finishes talking makes him invulnerable, well I'm not attacking him before he finishes, I drangonrend him and when he lands he's still invulnerable. I've tried setting his health to zero with console.commands and that doesn't either. Is there anything else I can do to try to circumvent this glitch? Aliera Caine
@ulera: Go back to a save from before approaching the Throat of the world. Sit through the whole Elder Scroll scene and the long-winded (when it's repeated over and over, it seems long :P) Alduin speech. Don't attack or use Dragonrend until Parthy tells you to use Dragonrend. If you use the shout too soon, sometimes you get the bug. You cannot start over midway between the time scene and the Alduin speech, because it's still holds onto the bug.
ulera
Well... luckily I have a save from right before that. Still, that's very annoying.

Aliera Caine
That's what worked for me. Sorry it didn't work for you. Found something at ES Wiki. One you've already tried. After viewing the cutscene and engaging in battle with Alduin, it is possible for Alduin to not take any damage whatsoever and/or to become stuck. What causes this is still unknown.A known method of fixing this is by reloading an earlier save from before using the Elder Scroll in the Time wound. Also, leaving the location and fast traveling back to it fixes this.Another method is to travel to High Hrothgar, enter and exit the building, and run back up to the mountain to resume the fight. ulera
Tried all three and it's still not working :(Â Am I just doomed? Nothing I try is working and not even console command killing him works.
Aliera Caine
Couple more things before I am out of ideas. Try console commands kill and godmode. Also, could the problem be linked to a mod? Might need to turn some off for the fight and turn them back on afterwards. Hope something works for you. ulera
Console commands don't work... I don't really have any mods that should effect alduin but I guess I could try that...
Georgiegril
I'm confused....Isn't Alduin supposed to be unkillable at that point? Otherwise why go to sovengarde?
ulera
Well, not kill him per se. From what I remember from my last olaythrough you bloody him a bit then he leaves, but whenever I land a hit his health doesn't drop in the slightest.
