Terranatar
Hey guys! Guess I am just being dumb. But I don't quite understand how to manually install mods into skyrim. I've watched a video for it, but I think if someone could walk me through on discord on a few of the mods I am looking at, it would be a huge help. I was always more of a hands on person honestly. Zepharius#4075 is my discord handle.
wfandrews
Unless you are quite proficient with modding I would strongly advise against manually installing mods. There are a number of mod managers which you would be well advised to use. The most popular are Vortex, which is supported by Nexus and has it's own forum on Nexus where you can get advise on that mod manager, and MO2 which I believe you can download from Nexus. In my opinion the best place to get advice on MO2 is the Steam forums for Legendary and SSE. There are some very knowledgeable people on MO2 that regularly give advice on those forums. Be sure to check out the pinned topics at the top of those Steam forum pages. There is also Nexus Mod Manager which is no longer supported by Nexus but is supported on github where you can download it. Which mod manager you choose to use is up to you but I would definitely choose one of them.
MFitz56
With all due respect to wfandrews above, with whom I agree, I still use NMM (Nexus Mod Manager). It is no longer available here on Nexus but can be downloaded from GitHub here: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager I like it because it is the most straightforward and, therefore, the mod manager most like doing it manually. The flip side of the same thing is that it offers the least in the way of features. However, as you have already been told, quit trying to do this the hard way and get a mod manager of one sort or another.
wfandrews
I am sorry MFitz56 if you thought I impugned NMM in any way in my post. Except for a brief stint using Wrye Bash to download and install SSE mods when SSE first came out I have been using NMM for years and continue to do so. I only hope that Terranatar takes your advice!
