WonderB
ok, it's starting to look like this one has not been figured out yet. at least i can't find any posted solutions.i'm finding little to little to no info on using a mod in vista.i wanted to try the BetterLingerieAndTorso and followed the instructions pretty explicidly. i've done alot of this stuff with oblivion so i'm used to nifs and dds and data file manipulation. am i right that vista is causing my changes not to work as described and has it been figured out yet.if someone can point me in the right direction but i'm starting to :wallbash:

WonderB
i use 32 bit vista so i assume it isn't just that. i've seen other messages of people with vista looking for the same help so i don't think it is just us. i didn't find a topic on the vista subject which is why i started one. Skotte
@ WonderB & CrystalMets : I'm curious (as another Vista user) did you install the game to the "Program files"? Vista has a thing against adding extra files to programs installed there (like mods).
Neela
I am using 64 bit vista and am not having any sort of problem installing mods so far.
Deleted187290User
The problems are most likely isolated, and completely unrelated to Vista.
Vladjin
Im have some of the same problems, however any .esp mods work however most but not all texture mods dont show up in game, for example, i am running a make-up mod which shows up but things like new combat armour dont show up, and i cant add items via console, it tells me theres no object id like that, im not sure how to fix that issue. it could be a problem that needs a patch fix? Vista has a thing against adding extra files to programs installed there (like mods). I have 2 program files folder in my vista. the very original one and program files (x86) witch contains FO3 installation. But i wonder why killable children mode works if vista has a thing against extra files.. Theres must be something else in this issue, like youll see another vista users has samiliar problems. Is there any MOD Moderator who can help with this issue?
Khet
Hmm, few things to make sure of since you're using Vista (and I don't care if you THINK you've already done these, double check them anyway!) Open up the Fallout ini found in Documents\My Games\Fallout 3Make sure bInvalidateOlderFiles is set to 1. Then try. If that doesn't work, go to Control Panel (NOT Classic View)-> User Accounts and Family Safety-> User Accounts->Turn User Account Control On or Off Turn UAC off (if it's on) restart and then try. If it works, reinstall Fo3 to anywhere BUT C:\Program Files (I install to C:\Games) since UAC only affects software in Program Files. Then turn UAC back on and restart again, and it should work. there was a third method but I seem to have forgotten it while typing the above. If I remember I'll edit this post, heh. Oh, and I'm using Vista 32, so it's NOT a Vista problem.
