Slowed down day/night cycle

I'm loving this game, however I'm wondering if it is possible to slow down the day/night cycle so that it is closer to real time. Days and nights go by so fast that it breaks some of the immersion for me. I'd like to be able to sweat it out under the sun for at least a couple of hours. I really like the atmosphere of the different times of day (sunrise, sunset, midday sun, etc.) but they pass by so quickly that you don't really get to enjoy them that much. Can someone please look into this? :thanks:

Bring down console and type 'set timescale to 15', and then save your game. You'll never need to retype this again (until you start a new game or load to before you did this).

30 is default, 15 is half speed (which tbh feels best), I guess 1 would be realtime.

  • 5 years later...

I know this was written a long time nothing more.

I have searched the WWW for this TimeScale (without command console) and have found this TOPIC.

By now I know the solution and let others who participate find this entry.

Use GECK.

Go to menubar to "Gameplay" and "Globals..." and search for TimeScale.

Or short type during GECK [ALT] [G] [G]
