Peregrine
now i ask one thing.....when the MEMod team set everything up, were all of you as ready as you expect everyone else to be.....? I have no idea. I joined much later. But if whoever started the project didn't do those things I posted, it's a miracle it got this far. did state that i threw that site together in about an hour......i admit that it is not too glamorous, but its been years since i tried anything like that..... You really do enjoy proving my points, don't you.... An hour is nowhere near enough investment for anyone to seriously consider your project. You're at the "hey, maybe I can make a mod" stage with nothing more than a basic idea. Unless you get past that stage and put significant effort of your own (before you even think of asking for help), you are doomed to failure. It doesn't have to be a pretty site (in fact, that's pretty close to the bottom of the priority scale). Post your plans in simple text format, and your screenshots on a simple gallery page. Content is what you need right now, and you don't have it.
shepmk
better.....? the first post..... ============ not proving your points, just stating my facts...... We have an edit function for a reason. Use it instead of double posting.-Peregrine
Kethruch
The thing was that they had an entire plan, and were able to voice that plan clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that made others want to come. Once again, it's not that your idea may be bad, it's the way you've gone about it that is confusing. Just saying 'I have a mod!' is not enough for anyone to get interested. What we crave (and why it's in the pinned threads of this forum) is a teaser - something to show us that someone has put in a LOT of thought, and has been able to put a lot of their thoughts down so that others (we) can share their vision. There is a lot of talent here, and this is where I would post if I were going to do a mod. Here's what I would do: 1) Name of Mod - with brief description of what it is about i.e. - Land of Arcangel - a total conversion mod requiring work on up to 30 different cultures and styles of buildings. 2) What do I have to put into the mod? i.e. - the mod is based on my RP world, in which I have put 30 years of effort. There are over thirty separate kingdoms, with cultures varying from egyptian-like to japanese-like to pseudo-roman. The continent is roughly the size of North America. If you are looking for information as to the level of detail I already have, please read these (I would attach documents here). I have over 10,000 pages of said documents. 3) What do I need? i.e. - I have many ideas but am not an artist. I need someone to bring my visions to life. I can do some things with TESCS, but am looking for experts. There are lots of positions to fill on this mammoth project! 4) How can they contact me? Do I have a site? What/who is part of the team already? This is of course an extreme example, i would doubt that many (or any) mods would have the level of detail I purport to have here. (BTW - everything in the fake ad is true). That's another thing - BE HONEST!!!!! don't make something out to be super well thought out, then not be able to back it up. The quickest way to lose team members is to lie to them, or embellish the work done to the point of being an out and out lie. Hope this helps - I'm sure that there are many who would want to join you if they could share in your vision - the only way to do that is to have already put down a number of things on paper for others to see before you even start to look for others to help you. Take a second, take a deep breath, and put a little more work into your project and then come back with a good description of what you want to do - If you want - I would be happy to look over what you want to put on the forum before it goes on - PM me and I'll be happy to help.
