Flambolticus
I recently transferred Skyrim into a bigger hard drive, and have played it for a while without problems. I tried to open up the game recently (after quitting) and all the saves didn't show up. All saves are showing up in the directory, however they are in .skse format instead of .ess. I really don't want to lose hundreds of hours of progress again (not the same problem before, just a hard drive crash). Any help is appreciated. fms1
You can rename the save to whatever.ess instead of whatever.ess.bak and your game should recognize it and load it (you may want to copy it then rename the copy).
Flambolticus
I tried to rename them to .ess, but the save info in game has a large number, and says "Unknown Location". If I try to load it, it just says that it's version 0 instead of 9. The save files (before change) are in .skse format, which is why, I assume, it does not work. IsharaMeradin
.skse is a new save file for SKSE and it can't be loaded by the game. I don't know why you don't have any .ess files tho.
