Gerrod
Hi all, The topic title says it all. I desperately want slower leveling in my SkyRe Master difficulty game. Being 4th level by the time I walk in to Dragons Reach is depressing as hell. I've done next to nothing. Killed a few wolves, half a dozen raiders and crafted about ten potions and spent a short time working for Alvor, nothing else, and heck, I was nearly level three before emerging from the caverns under Helgen. This is ridiculous! At this rate, by the time I'm fifteenth level and ready to really start the game, with my skills in the 30's to low 40's because I like a character who's self reliant and can do many things, and the way the game engine keeps upping the levels of everything around me, the children of Whiterun would be feasting on my bones. So please, someone, tell me a way to slow the leveling of the character without simply slowing skill advancement to a standstill by quintupling the number of uses it takes to level an individual skill. Thanks in advance, Isshia
Georgiegril
You can change the values in Skyrim Community Uncapper....this can change how much skills, perks, health, etc. you gain...it may not affect your actual level (i think it doesn't, but I could be wrong) the amount of skills, perks, health, etc. you have can be set much lower than the vanilla for that level, the end result being that a 30 can feel like a 10. There is an explanation of it on the mod page.
thomriis
You could install a mod that gives you unlimited number of followers and let them do some of the dirty work, Or make sure your difficulty level is set to master from the beginning of the game. And last the most advanced option would be to install Skyrim-community-uncapper mod which lets you modify how fast or slow you level up (requires that you load the game through Skyrim script extender) heck you can even choose to go insane and set the max level to 500 and beyond+how much health, magicka and stamina you gain every time. Make sure you carefully read the description on how to make the ini tweaks as it could really mess up your game, Im currently at level 91
AnkhAscendant
I was actually going to suggest using the Uncapper linked by Georgiegril to change how many skill increases it requires to level. I'm not sure that that's possible, but I thought it was. But if you don't want to slow down the leveling of skills, just character leveling, that's exactly what you'll need... If the Uncapper can't do it I'm not sure there's anything that can.
slainia
There's another option, if you want it. Check out Balance your own game. I'll get a link for you.Essentially one of the options is simple xp gain - it effects how slow the skills themselves increase per use, with choices. You can go 25 % lower than vanilla, 50%, 75% or 100 % - at the moment, 100% effectively stops your leveling until you change it back. I use the 100% when l feel l'm outpacing my content, it basically lets me stay that level as long as l want. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18474
Gerrod
Slainia (great nic btw) thank you greatly! This was precisely what I was hoping for. You made my day. Thanks again. Isshia
slainia
Lol thank you :) it's reference (in part) to a song of the same name. Also just really like the sound of the name, so to speak. hehe.As for the mod - np. I love it myself, lets me pause the game's xp progress as long as l want. You'll want to be careful you don't pause it too long and end up with quests that're too tough, though. (I think there are a few out there that're meant for higher level characters, but it's pretty useful.)Glad it helps :)

Thanks in advance, IsshiaWell this is for any one who find this like i did its way late but lol. First off you cant use the capper that comes with skyre. Install skyre with out the capper, and then download the capper and install that. Changing the ini of skyres capper doesnt do anything. Second for those of you like me that have no idea what his ini meant. It took me trying it out to figure it out. In the layman's tongue PCLevelSkillExpMults means how much of that little leveling bar will fill up per skill level. SkillExpGainMults means how many times you have to practice to get it to go up. So i have the SkillExpGainMults to .3, and byog at -75% exp gain. It takes 76 sword swings to rasie the skill 1. With it at -50% it takes like 40 something. So now if you want to change your levels to something where you get diffent gains per diffent levels you can to. I dont see any realism in that, it doesnt take you longer to figure out how to become a master, then it took you to become a apprentice. It should be a steady gain from 0-400 or 150 in skyres case. It shouldent take 2 sword swings to go from level 1 one hand to level 2, and 100 to go from 90-100, in real life that 100 swings would rasie your skill the same as if you were a master. It doesnt take you a extra 100 swings to raise your muscles to get to a new level of strength. its all steady.
dwjlien
SKy Tweakhttp://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33395/?It's like BYOG but with loads more options, including an MCM menu page devoted explicitly to experience, it's brill.
