Hands become gigantic after some animations

So I made some adjustments to a couple of my characters using RaceMenu. Particularly the Body Scales section to adjust their proportions. After making these adjustments, my characters' hands are scaling to gigantic proportions after they perform certain animations. Right now the only two animations that seem to affect this is book reading ( from Animations: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51554 )

and eating or drinking ( from RND ).

 

I can quickly fix it by reloading the character's preset, but it's becoming a bit tedious. I had this issue with one of my characters about a year ago, but it seemed to fix itself, or maybe I fixed it but wasn't aware what I did to fix it. Any ideas?
