LionsLinden
Hey there, after a recent new setup of my Skyrim installation and (for the first time) using TexturePackCombiner I get very clear/transparent water up close to my character. Water in the distance is completely fine. http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/5487356-1352471950.jpg As you can see I am using an ENB series (.119) and several other texture packs/mods one of them being WATER by OpticShooter. Any idea on what may cause this problem as I never have experienced anything alike before.
throttlekitty
For starters, try without ENB, or try removing a likely mod or two, like WATER to see what happens.
LionsLinden
I already tried it without ENB and SKSE and also disabled all water relating mods. Without ENB it is more apparent that with it and anything else didn't change much. What made the transparecy a bit better was chaning some values in Catalyst. Any idea of problems ATI graphic cards may have with Skyrim?
throttlekitty
I'm coming back from a big absence, so I'm a little lacking in recent modding lore, sorry. :) If those mods use any textures that replace the vanilla files, I'd test without those present. (textures\landscape\water\ maybe?) No clue on ATI specific issues, what did you change? mip-map behavior maybe?
LionsLinden
I think I only use WATER itself and some patches to make it work with other mods. My next try will be without any kind of texture mods to see if I can get it to work properly. If I recall correctly I unflagged ATI Tesselation, changed some values about Anti-Aliasing so that it just adds 2x Morphological AA to Skyrims own settings and well I can't remember the last thing right now. I will report back when I tested without any water textures.
LionsLinden
Just to let you know and if anoyne else might have some similar problem in the future: The culprit was ambient occlusion. Never figured it could actually be something like ambient occlusion :/
throttlekitty
Huh. via ATI Control or ENB?
LionsLinden
Through ENB. But it happened coupled with the driver update to 12.10 and I never had any idea it might be driver related. I made a complete clean install but it only changed after I rolled back with my graphics driver.
