How to install mods?

I don't think it has anything to do with the czech version. Nobody has a Textures folder by default. Just make one under the Data folder.

Yes but then what? I made ArchiveInvalidation.txt in Fallout 3 folder but I dont have the mods in game still.

Well, what mods are you installing? If it's just textures, just make sure they're in the right directory, update the archive invalidation, and make sure you have bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 in the ini.

ah ok. Didnt know about bInvalidateOlderFiles=1

If a texture replacer mod does not have clear instructions, here is a readme template for a texture replacer.

You should be able to glean some information out of it or even use it to create readme files for mods that do not have any.

Tutorial: Readme files - Why they are important

NOTE: The readme generator link at the bottom is "cut short" due to limitations of this forum but you can get the correct link by clicking on it or right-click, copy link.

This is a sample of what can be generated from the Readme Generator.

Name: Glass Power Armor

Description

===========

This mod replaces the textures of the Power Armor to look like transparent glass.

Installation

============

First-Time Setup

----------------

If this is the first time you are trying to install a mod, you will need to configure your Fallout.ini file as follows:

The file is typically found in C:\Documents and Settings\YourID\My Documents\My Games\Fallout3\Fallout.ini

Change From: bInvalidateOlderFiles=0

Change To: bInvalidateOlderFiles=1

Archive Invalidation

--------------------

For texture replacers, you need to add the following list of files to your ArchiveInvalidation.txt

If not already there, create and edit <<Fallout3 Install Folder>>\ArchiveInvalidation.txt

Example: D:\Games\Fallout 3\ArchiveInvalidation.txt

Copy and paste the following lines into your ArchiveInvalidation file:

textures/armor/powerarmor/powerarmorbody.dds

textures/armor/headgear/powerarmorhelmet.dds

File Extraction

---------------

Extract the files of the mod to a temporary location.

Examine the contents of the mod and copy all the files and folders to Fallout3's Data folder.

Uninstall

=========

Delete the following files:

Data\textures\armor\powerarmor\powerarmorbody.dds

Data\textures\armor\headgear\powerarmorhelmet.dds

Data\Glass Power Armor Readme.txt

Known Issues or Bugs
