Sverkeroco Posted November 10, 2012 Share Posted November 10, 2012 (edited) Hey, Just made a clean save using the Troubleshooting Guide, did everything step by step. Did it twice, i uninstalled every single mod, saved, installed. Yeah everything it says, now whenever i try to load the newest save, aka the one i should use, it doesnt work. The loading screen just keeps going, animations and everything, the text and music just keeps on, nothing happens. Had the computer running with the loading screen over night just to be sure it wasnt taking hella time to load the first time, 7-8 hours still nothing. TOok a print on my Mods. Any1 else had something like it? Okay, so basically this sums it up. 1. I do the clean save steps. 2. I load the save file from #1 just fine with mods and all. I can play, run around do whatever. I save and quit when im done. 3. I try to access the new clean save WITH mods, the save from #2. Wont load. Btw. Not running Dawnguard or any other DLC. Using the set timescale console command set to 0 and forgetting to reset it to normal before fast traveling.3. Memory, the game simply runs out of memory even with 12gb (game can only use so much) depending on mods loaded, usually shutting down other apps cures this. And memory as i see it is not the problem. It wont start without mods either. And if i go back to the save that works, i can keep on playing, changing zones and whatever, loads fine between zones/dungeons/whatever. Just if i exit out and try to load the latest one again, that's where it f*#@s up. With or without mods. Save file is just 5mb, just like all the other saves. acidzebra Posted November 10, 2012 Share Posted November 10, 2012 (edited) Even with a "clean save" there may still be references to missing mods or scripts or whatever. Which may cause hangs. Which is why I generally would not recommending pulling, installing, upgrading or just messing with mods during your in-progress game. Of course, the latest steam-powered upgrades made that one kind of hard. "Did it twice, i uninstalled every single mod, saved, installed" Installed WHAT? The exact same mods? Updated versions? I uninstalled every mod, made a new save file, then installed the exact same mods, + like 5 new which was the ones i wanted to add. New ones is Better Vampires by Brehanin 5_7 (Main Package - For Those Without Dawnguard), Vampire Eyes Retex Pack Underworld Included (Underworld style), Vampire Eyes Fix, Predator Vision - Vampire and Werewolf and Female Vampires Have Fangs. I mean, i can get into the save file first. But if i then save with the mods active again, then i cant load that save, as i said in the 1/2/3 step thing. If any of those mods had any active scripts, it could even cause a lot of problems. Then there is order of install and the potential of files overwritten in a different order... it's just... why? Anyway, bizarre actions aside, have you tried removing the 5 new mods, then loading any of your saves? Are you running BOSS? Do you get any warnings or errors? rickerhk Posted November 10, 2012 Share Posted November 10, 2012 If you're using SKSE make sure to have the latest update for version 1.8 http://skse.silverlock.org/beta/skse_1_06_05.7z There was an issue if plugins.txt had a comment or something like that. Also using SKSE and updated. Anyways, i just deleted everything, verified and reinstalled everything, hadnt come that far anyways. Disabled the Better Vampires by Brehanin 5_7(non Dawnguard version) and now it works, so that's what caused it. Any1 know if i have to be a vampire before even installing it?
