Hi all,

Can anyone tell me why a message saying SKSE is not running, skyui wont work properly when i make a new game? The weapons and magic interfaces are fine but I cant acess the MCM. My other mods that require SKSE arent working aswell. But when I type getskseversion it comes up with the latest version.

Not sure what ive done wrong. Have reinstalled. Need SKSE to work properly.

Attached is my Skyrim folder.

Thanks

"I had the same issue after the last update."

I bet that's the root of the issue....

After the update, you do not have the latest version of something installed. IMHO.

My Steam runs 24/7... Well my machine "sleeps" if i'm not on it.. So, it runs everytime my pc wakes up.

I have a shortcut to run Skyrim SE with the Skse loader proggie.

Last update, after a few days, all secondary programs were updated, and works just fine.

You need to make damn sure, everything is updated that needs to be.

That's my take.

Edit: As far as SkyUI... The last version is 2017... So that has nothing to do with it. lol...

Whenever I troubleshoot I break things down into their lowest compound. In this case, no mods just SKSE64 and SkyUI. Don't need anything else than that to test with.

Install Binaries for SKSE64

Install SKSE64 Scripts with Mod Manager of choice

Install SkyUI

Run SKSE64 to start game

Take carriage ride to a point you can access the menu

Access MCM in game

Check SkyUI settings in MCM

I will say this though, you really should move your Skyrim SE directory out of Program Files. That isn't a good place for anything really with UAC. In fact I have my entire Steam installation outside of Program Files.

Problem isn't with the update, if it was everyone would have same problem.

Yes, troubleshooting is something that more people should learn how to do. Just remember: "Isolate the problem." Having a good mod manager (MO2 or Vortex) really helps with that.

Also, you can skip the lengthy cart ride intro. Right after launching the game, at the main menu, open the console (~) and type: coc qasmoke

This will bring you to the test room, which loads up quickly and can be used to test MCM, SkyUI, RaceMenu, etc. If you want to test out stuff like world textures and meshes and such, then you can coc riverwood (or wherever you want in the world) instead.
