amokrun1
What does it mean when some records are written in italic letters?
VIitS
Those are injected records. Injected records are records whose formIDs indicate that they are from a master of the mod, but those records don't actually exist in the master.

Thanks for sharing that information, Vlits :) But please forgive me for my ignorance, I'm still learning my way around these file systems. If they're not actually IN the masters, where do they come from?
VIitS
They are basically the same as new records in the mod, but a mod author who has multiple mods they want to work together without having a specific master can use, as an example, an injected workbench to let you build things from multiple mods, with the formID ostensibly being from Fallout4.esm. The risk is, someone else could end up using the same FormID for their injected record, which can cause serious issues, particularly if they are different record types. pra
Oh, people put these in on purpose? Didn't know what. The only time I've seen those was when you have a patch which alters something from a parent mod, but the parent mod has removed the record since. amokrun1
In my case, I removed a mod that a patch I am working on had as a master and replaced it with an updated version. Thanks for the response, Vlits!

I can see the uses for it, as well as the drawbacks. That's actually really interesting, and offers some new avenues that I hadn't thought of, for personal mods. Thanks very much for taking the time to explain that, and to edjumicate me :)
