cmac110
Hello everyone, i was hoping i could get some input or mod advice for a issue I'm having, i'm not sure if this is supposed to be happening or if there is even a way around, either way some input/advice would be much appreciated! I have searched around on google and on some of the comments posted on each mods page to see if anything was happening similar to anyone else, so far no luck :wallbash: OK, So i'm getting a neck seam issue i think is incredibly annoying, when my character is in a lit area but her shadow casts down on her neck area the seam is blatantly visible, Shadow However when her head is positioned in a specific way, the neck seam is gone, and it looks brilliant.. No-Shadow The mods I am using are as follows, i recently reinstalled Skyrim, and currently i have UNP body, and Seamless UNP and Coverwomen Look #1 mods installed. Nothing else. Oubliette
You're already running two files that have optimized your neck seam as much as is possible - you'll not find any better. Sorry but you're likely stuck with the seam. I'd suggest using a necklace or scarf mod to cover it up if it bothers you too much.
IsharaMeradin
There does seem to be an increase in reports of people with discoloration and/or neck seam issues since the patch with mods that were otherwise fine before hand. Not too entirely sure as to the cause. I do know from my own work with setting up my Unique Races mod post 1.8 patch that any custom texture sets for the head do not have the corresponding _s & _sk files utlized and instead use whatever is assigned on the nif file. However, I do not think that is playing a factor in your particular case. One thing you could do is to adjust your fShadowBiasScale= in your skyrimprefs.ini file upwards from whatever it is till the character shadow is no longer on your character. It won't "solve" the problem but it may give enough light to no longer make it noticeable. Other than that it just may be that one of the file maps between head & body just don't match up. All it takes is one being off for their to be a seam.
cmac110
Thank you Oubliette, your input is much appreciated and thank you for the tips. :) IsharaMeradin, i must thank you, it seems to have dulled the problem a bit though not perfect but it's really only noticeable in certain lighting situations. I realize i will never get it perfect and unnoticeable but so long as its not blatant and horrible looking i'm happy with that. Also would you suggest using maybe a ENB, would that alter the light and shadows a bit? I am in the process of adding more mods to my game, i recently did a fresh install of Windows and along with Skyrim. Just taking it slow and testing out 1 mod at a time and making sure it works and ect. But i had thought about a ENB if that may possibly help. IsharaMeradin
I cannot recommend the use of any ENB as I've not used any. I suppose you could try some out, that's your call.
