wulfharth Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Well, the question is in the topic. I was thinking of making a sword similar to the sword of sages from twilight princess, but I want to make it give off light like a torch. Anybody figure out how to do this?
IsharaMeradin Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Dawnbreaker (a Daedric quest reward) gives off light. It has something to do with the mesh & texture if I'm not mistaken. You could take a look at it and figure out how they made it work and then try to replicate that.

IsharaMeradin Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Only other option I can think of then is to examine how some of those "ring of light" mods work. I think it is an adapation of the candelight spell without the actual mesh and tied to the equipping of the ring. I suppose you could do similar with a weapon... but technically it wouldn't be giving light off from the weapon.
throttlekitty Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Might want to look at how the hand magic nifs work, idle magic casts light. IIRC there was an AttachLight node or similar in there. I can take a look tonight.

I was thinking that I might be able to get it through a custom enchantment, but I would really like to find another way, so I could use the method on un-enchanted weapons.
