BlackAlpha
I tried to modify the file "(Game folder) \ XComGame \ Localization \ INT \ XComStrategyGame.int", but the changes don't seem to apply. Is it not possible to modify this file? Does someone know a workaround?
Drakous79
Try editing the one in Users\YourUserName\Documents\My Games\XCOM - Enemy Unknown\XComGame\Localization\INT\
BlackAlpha
Try editing the one in Users\YourUserName\Documents\My Games\XCOM - Enemy Unknown\XComGame\Localization\INT\ Thanks, it worked! Quite odd the file is sitting all the way over there, on its own...
FlyingHigh10000000
A lot of how this game seems to be purposely resistant to modding is a bit odd. :\
Mephansteras
What's contained in there? (I'm at work and can't check)
BlackAlpha
It's part of Firaxis' "special" patcher. It's a text file containing parts of the original, which is inside the game folder. You can edit the one in your documents, it's just a bit of a pain because if the user starts his game in "online mode", Firaxis' patcher will overwrite that file and the user will need to reinstall the mod. FlyingHigh10000000
The only stuff that really has an impact on the game is mission names(You can modify the mission first and last names, so you can be weird and have stuff like "Operation Disgusting Flatulence" :P) and some of the names of equipment/facilities. I'm personally renaming SHIVs to HWP.

Mephansteras
Interesting. I'll have to check it out.
Odie1974
Funny, I have been messing with that file as well... But for me it works differently - I do not have this at all in "Users\YourUserName\Documents\My Games\XCOM - Enemy Unknown\XComGame\Localization\INT\" I do not even have such a diretory in fact. BUt when I make changes to the game file (in game dir) - they are applied no problem. Maybe because I am always in offline on steam...
