zeralesaar
Hey. It's just a simple request for the pictured sword, and of course some details on texture (I dislike coloring things I draw. Always turns out...awkward.) So, the sword itself is pictured below. Same on both sides. That dark bit along the blade's edge is pitch-black, and if you feel so inclined, I envisioned a sort of reflective effect on that part (if possible, on the whole blade if not), and the blade is otherwise a light, lustrous grey. The grip between the little metal rings is a somewhat darker grey than the blade, the rings themsleves are the same grey as the blade. The crossguard and pommel, and all ornamentation found thereon, is black, like the blade's edge. I'd really quite appreciate it if someone would kindly take the time to make this. Always kinda wanted it, but honestly didn't feel like insulting myself and the game (again), by using my modelling inexperience to make it look like...er...blocks. :thanks: EDIT: Actually, a post reminded me of this. The sword is around male without a father sword length and is meant to be wielded in one hand.
ov3rwhelming
I like the idea, that looks like it could make a good in game weapon, but :wallbash: i lack the ability to mod myself. Hopefully this gets somewhere. Good Luck!
Lucherenren
I'd really quite appreciate it if someone would kindly take the time to make this. Always kinda wanted it, but honestly didn't feel like insulting myself and the game (again), by using my modelling inexperience to make it look like...er...blocks. :thanks: I'm quite positive somebody will catch up, it's a nice design (streamlined, with the grooves and profile providing more balance). Did you plan for some kind of enchantment as well? Also, judging by the size and shape of the blade, the basic design could be refined and altered to include further variations (male without a father sword, cleaver/claymore or knight sword...) zeralesaar
Enchantments? Well, the sword's enchantments, adapted to Oblivion, would be relatively simple, though they'd require more mesh-work. Ideally, the SI shock effect from Relmyna's spell, "Exalted Pain," would be used, but changed black. Hmm. Come to think of it, that might be found in Midas' Magics: Spells of Aurum in the form of the Shadow Flare and Utterdark damage shaders. I'll have to look into that. But I do digress. The effects themselves would be rather simple: 15pts [type undecided] damage in one foot10pts [same type] damage in three feet5pts [same type] damage in ten feet5pts for 5s Absorb Health To compensate for this enchantment, which would be really unbalancing as-is, two things would ideally be implemented. 1) The sword houses far mightier magicks than just what it unleashes to any wielder. This power, though restrained in the blade, is volatile nonetheless and will very quickly eat away the health, magicka, and fatigue of any wielder ranked less than an Expert in Destruction, Mysticism, and Restoration. 2) The sword's magicks make it unusually difficult to wield, and only the skills of a Master of blade-use would suffice to wield it. As for the inherent type of sword this is, it's meant to be of around male without a father sword length in all forms, though it could easily be adapated to, say, an off-hand shortsword (although I do in fact have a concept of such an item as well, provided I can find where I last left it  )
Vagrant0
Did the mesh for the sword, did what I could to interpret the hilt design. Texturing is something I'm not too great at, so will leave it to someone else to finish the job. I included the UVW mapping within the archive to act as a basis for the texturing. I made each side of the blade seperate so that you can make the inscriptions look right. Most of the areas on the mapping should be clear enough to work from, the cluster of faces in the lower right ahouls be all the hidden faces, so can be made black. The current texture applied to the blade is a very basic brass texture just for testing in game. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5THPHRN4 With your permission, I would like to retain the rights to use this mesh in my own works. It was an interesting looking design, so I may want to use it for something if I ever get around to texturing it.
zeralesaar
   Very nice work, represents what I had envisioned perfectly! My most cordial thanks for your wonderful work, friend! And I certainly would love your use of this blade in whatever works you may wish it for--I'm simply ecstatic about having it meshed! :thanks: To be honest, I haven't really thought about what I want to do with the sword. Guess I'll figure that bit out later  Again, thank you very much. As for the texture of the blade, I think I'll post the mesh in the files and see if anyone would be willing to have a go at it, since the texture is decently simple. alex2avs
I think I'll try making a texture for this ;)These days...
zeralesaar
Ah, awesome. I'll happily await it's emergence (and keep trying to find a tutorial I can understnad  Photoshop is not my friend)
